The gender identity I choose for this assignment is female. I’ll start with the three positive aspects of this gender identity. Starting off, females are more likely to live longer. Comparing females to males, females are more likely to see the doctor over health issues than men. Which in turn results of females taking care of their body more and potentially living longer. Next positive aspect according to the book females are more likely to be transformational leaders, leaders that inspire workers and develop skills and creativity. It was also said they serve well as role models, mentors, and empower workers, and encourage innovation even when the place is successful. Lastly another positive aspect would be in modern US, family law favors females to a degree. For a female to for example lose her child in court we anticipate her to be very unfit. First we assume that a girl will be very “girly” and only want to wear dresses and play with dolls. Next is that women are expected to be more shy and conservative. Last one is that women are never in charge, meaning being the boss of a company or in a relationship. These stereotypes could impact our society in various ways. Girls will feel like they have to be “girly” to be considered a female, which would affect society by having females feel like they’re doing someone wrong which could cause them to make bad decisions that effect everyone. Females not playing sports would affect society by not have variety in the sports world. I feel like “the females are never in charge” will do the most damage to society, simply because for a female to feel like no matter how successful she is or will be that she will never be the “boss” is hurting society by losing potential doctors or CEO’s that are bosses and could benefit
