Did you know that 68% percent of the world childs are abused. In the novel, The Outsiders by S.E. Hilton. Johnny and Dally were both abused by parents which is why gang was there family. Also, they both have much care for eachother. However, these two both have many differences. For instance, Johnny is law abiding while Dally is not. Also, that Dally is tough and Johnny is sensitive. In this novel, both of them have recognizable similarities but big differences. Dally and Johnny have one very remarkable similarity which is gang being their family. The one similarity stands out more than others because it describes them both the best. They both have parents who do not give them the right attention like any other child. This is because they have similar family lives. For example, Dally cares about Johnny because Johnny has a very remarkable interest that Dally does not have which is love and affection for others. Dally sees more in him than he does in the other greasers. Ponyboy states, “Johnny was the only thing Dally loved. And now Johnny was gone”(152). Dally lost care in his life when Johnny dies. Dally dies a thug just because he lost him. He makes it obvious that he cares a lot about his Johnny. Dally thought there was no purpose to live after that. Similarly, Johnny cares about Dally as well. He makes it clear that he wants Dally to have a better life. In the letter that Johnny left for Ponyboy,“‘There's still a lot of good in the world. Tell Dally. I don’t think he knows’” (179). The note Johnny left for Ponyboy to tell Dally, but it was too late for that. Ponyboy says, “Johnny worshipped the ground Dallas walked on”(25).
