Characteristics a feature or quality belonging to a person, place or thing and serving to identify it. There are many personal characteristics that can define a person as an individual; some characteristics determined if a person is nice, disrespectful, intelligent, or not intelligent but it determines how a person interprets you. I believe that every individual has integrity as one of their characteristics, but my top three characteristics are Integrity, Compassion, and hard-working and for the person who carried me throughout my whole life “my brother” his characteristics would be his responsibility. Integrity is, in my opinion the important characteristics because it’s a core quality of a great life, building a big “character” to ensure that someone knows right from wrong. Compassion is my second trait because I hate to see people in pain mainly emotional. Any time I see someone in pain it causes me to consume their energy making me want to consult them so I can find a way for them to feel better. Nobody taught me about compassion it just a trait that I’ve learned on my own. I call myself the illegal therapist because I don’t legally have a license, but most of my friends come to me for advice about anything if it’s about issues within their relationship or if it family issues they came to me for help. Many things that occur in one’s life can all stem from their individual personality, but interpreting how one’s personality guides their life presents a difficult challenge. Many actions, quirks, and patterns that a person has are easily noted due to the ability to see it, but the puppeteer behind these habits is an individual’s personality. A certain personality type can affect the perception of certain events and the reactions/feelings to certain outcomes. While one person might see a situation as dreadful, another may see it entirely different. Integrity is an idea that has been discussed by individuals with a verbal acuity far beyond anything I could ever hope for. With that in mind, I will not delve deeply or poetically into what integrity is or should mean. However, I will simplify the meaning of integrity; at the core, integrity boils down to doing what is right even if nobody is watching. See a piece of trash on the ground and nobody is around...pick it up. Driving down the road with no cops in sight...drive the speed limit. Arrive at a tollbooth and no attendant is working…pay the toll. An applicant is not readily available to sign a form for enlistment…track them down and ensure they sign it. I could write examples until infinity becomes paltry in comparison, yet I am sure I have made my point clearly; the greater good must be upheld regardless of who is there to ensure it is happening. It seems obvious that integrity should be a trait every individual is hardwired with from birth. However, integrity is a thankless trait; nobody is around after all. An individual cannot expect someone to clap, to smile, to thank them, to do anything actually. By definition, integrity should be something that is followed through with simply because an individual wishes to do what is correct, not because they expect accolades of any sort.

It is often labeled together with anxiety and negative emotional pain. People who fall more towards agreeableness are more cooperative whereas those who are on the opposite spectrum are more competitive by nature. A series of 60 questions were asked for to me to rate my behavior a scale of 1 through 5 to determine my personality. Questions ranged from, how I am at parties to how much I care for others. My personality ENTJ that's it, but what is that exactly? According to the Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test online I am a slight extravert, intuitive, thinking and judging person. Some might even say I am arrogant and straightforward which and I tend to be “on-duty” all the time which are also traits that were affirmed. I feel sure they did not score my answers correctly as I consider myself more an introvert. Before I began taking the online test I thought I was an open-minded and optimistic person with tendencies to be more creative versus organized with a high preference for introversion, but, after careful reading I was an introvert but have now pushed myself to become a slight extrovert with the test results leaving me feeling empowered that the traits I actually strive for are becoming my beliefs.

There are biological and environmental aspects of life the shape the development of personality and differing perceptions of experiences contribute to differences between people. There are many different theories and views of personality; however, regardless of the differing viewpoints it agrees that personality is unique and no two individuals are the same (Feist & Feist, 2009).
