For the first system I have chosen the Muscular system. This system is made up of three different types of muscles, skeletal muscles, visceral muscles, and cardiac muscles. Without these muscles we are unable to move, this is the point of the skeletal muscles to help the body move; visceral muscles are involuntary muscles which are located inside organs such as the stomach, intestines, and blood vessels; cardiac muscles are inside the heart, this is also an involuntary muscle. The muscular system is made up of tissues that work with the skeletal system to help control the body’s movement.
The skeletal muscle is attached to bones by tendons; the skeletal also helps generate heat throughout the body. Muscles like the ones inside your arms and legs are called voluntary muscles; this means that you decide when to move these muscles. Muscles that are found inside the heart and stomach are involuntary; this means that these muscles are controlled automatically by your nervous system and hormones in the body. …show more content…

Nerve endings or the receptors, at one end carry the sensors that respond to stimuli. On the opposite side of the receptor, the stimulus is transferred to the brain. The nerve endings are the means by which stimuli are perceived or control exercised. This is like a telephone line, carrying a message between two telephones. There are many different types of nerve endings on nerve cells. This depends on the task such as touch, smell, hear, or see.
The nervous system and homeostasis have a negative feedback relationship. The nervous system responds to internal and external stimuli. If the body’s core temperature drops below 37 degrees the brain sends a message to the blood vessels to constrict and keep warm blood flowing throughout the body. Similarly, excess body heat triggers perspiration. The body's homeostasis functions are controlled in the brain by the pituitary gland and the
