Ways to Minimize the Risk of Child Kidnapping in Malaysia

According to statistic provided with Council for Anti-Trafficking Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (MAPO), 118 cases of child kidnapping were reported on February 2008 and 0ctober 2010 in Malaysia. This report shown that child kidnapping had widespread. Parents should always play their role and implement some ways to keep the children’s safety. There is three ways to minimize the risk of child kidnapping, which is educate their children stay away from strangers (Zuraneeza Zulkifli, 2013; Murphy,2014; Johnston, J.R,2001) ; educate their children to protect themselves (Canadian Centre for Child Protection,2011; Georgia K. Hilgeman,1999; Murphy,2014) ; and enrol self-defends class (Andrea K Clark,2013) and choose caregivers who can put trust (Janet R. Johnston et al, 2011)
Current issues bring the facts that living today is much more dangerous than years ago. Even we are more awareness than before, but sometimes, we cannot avoid things to being happened. By the way, missing child can be grouped into two categories, which are kidnapping and disappearance under worry situation. According to the statistic from Cyber Travel Tips, most of the missing children’s cases are handled by court and death. According to the Malaysian Digest, there are five horrible cases of kidnapping and abuse since 2007. Nurin Jazzlin (August 20, 2007), 8 years old girl who went missing after went to the night market alone. Nurin’s body was found in a sports bag after a month. Her body was sexually assaulted and brutally murdered when found her dead body (Lai, 2013). Sharlinie Mohd Nashar (January 9,2008), 5 years old girl who disappeared after playing at play ground with her sister. She is still missing (Utusan, 2008). Nayati Shamelin Moodliear(April 27...
