I am applying for admission to the Ph.D. program in economics at Washington State University (WSU) because I want a career in the research and teaching of economics. In particular, I am interested in factors that affect market power and competition of individual firms, and the manner in which firms can respond to changes in exogenous factors affecting their pricing decisions, business operations and earning capacities. In order to gain appreciation of these and related issues, it is essential for me to have a strong grounding in advanced microeconomics, econometrics as well as game theory.

Subsequent to earning a Ph.D., I would like to apply for a faculty position at a leading university and investigate issues concerned with exogenous factors as they affect the firm’s decision-making.
I hope that my undergraduate (major in international economics) and graduate education (major in finance) as well as three-year university teaching experience have prepared me for such a career. I have been teaching the following subjects calculus I-II, mathematics for economists, intermediate microeconomics and intermediate macroeconomics at Khazar University (Emerging Europe and Central Asia, EECA rank #68) during 2013 -2016. Yet, I have always checked on my ability to join the academia. When I began teaching calculus I-II during the fall term of 2013, I decided firmly to apply for the Ph.D. degree in economics. It is my first application for a Ph.D. program, and I feel very hopeful. I shall not deceive myself neither faculty about my Ph.D. intention, as I know what area of research in economics I am interested and what knowledge I must obtain to be successful at the Ph.D. thesis defense stage. As economics is a broad science, I will appreciate very much learning of advanced macroeconomics, growth theories and stabilization. I have studied independently (via MIT’s open courseware) classical, neoclassical growth models from Acemoglu and topics on monetary and fiscal policies from Romer. The main component I look for in college is their commitment to further my studies. I feel this college will provide an ingenious culture within the science field, therefore rendering myself with the building blocks necessary to later pursue the medical field. Not only does UNCW devote itself towards their student’s undergraduate years, but also by providing Professional pathways such as Pre-Medicine, students such as myself can go into Professional schools better prepared. An HBCU is a college/university that embeds the nature of power and black excellence; a place with surroundings that doesn’t force you, but makes you want to push yourself to become a better person inside and out, and throughout the community. Transferring would allow myself to be put in an atmosphere of continuous motivation and growth that I would feed off of my superiors and the people around me.
While other children watched their favorite cartoon or played their favorite video game, reading business articles and watching the fluctuations seen in the stock market enthralled me. Renowned leaders in the business world have always been of interest to me, specifically Warren Buffet. My favorite quote by Buffet is “It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than you and you’ll drift in that direction.” By attending CMU, I would personify this quote. Growing up, my parents have instilled into me, many essential values, such as working hard and “being the best me I could be.” I have always expected a lot from myself, but high expectations from my parents and close friends, have increased my work ethic and lifted my goals and aspirations even higher. For that reason, I hope to challenge myself through the prestigious Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Science’s economics curriculum. The undergraduate economics program would prepare me for a vast array of careers. Jobs in policy, law, and business are all possible, or if one desires to go to some sort of post graduate school, that is also possible. By having such a top-notch education, I would surely be closer to achieving my goal of receiving my MBA from Tepper. In making all this possible, a wide range of classes must be made available. Classes that are available in just about any economics curriculum, like Intermediate Economics, are also available here, but classes like Behavioral Economics and Global Electronic Markets are what makes CMU unique. There is so much we don’t know, and my curiosity has driven me to learn more. This is why I feel that Cornell offers the best experience for someone interested in majoring in economics, due to the skill and vast knowledge of the professors teaching the subject. Two professors that stand out in particular to me are Francine Blau and Kaushik Basu. Blau, a prize winning economist for her studies on labor inequality, and Basu who was the chief economist for the World Bank, which maintains the chief goal of abolishing world poverty, epitomize the type of intellectual I aspire to be. To see two famed economists working at Cornell, looking to better the world inspires me, and I would be honored to be given the ability to learn under them at the university, so that I could grow in my intellectual and academic
Not only am I confident that Rutgers University will fully assist me in reaching my personal enrichment, but I have faith that it will help me to achieve my career goals as well. Throughout the years, the Scarlet Knights have surely made a name for themselves in New Jersey. I have yet to decide on a specific major, but attending Rutgers will allow me to get a taste of the many majors the University has to offer. Benefiting from Rutgers is not the question. The real question is how would one not? A degree from Rutgers has a such a strong value. Not just that, but there is a lot of involved with the school and students.

I told someone when I was younger that I wanted to cure people. 4 years ago, I told one of my teachers I wanted to find the best school that would allow me to do that. A year ago, I went to Wayne State and I found it, my major and my school. Being interested in science and math has been a major component in my studies and choosing a career path. Devoting time to helping and working with others doing volunteer work makes the decision a whole lot better. Majoring in Pharmacy is the right path and Wayne State University will give me the best chance at following that path.
The primary reason I am applying to Molloy College is my desire to earn the education and qualifications in order to provide more involved care for my patients at work. I have known for some time that I have always wanted to be a nurse. Therefore, in April 2007 I enrolled in a program to become a certified nurse’s aide and earned my New York state certification in July 2007. I began working immediately at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in November 2007; I also began working in a hospital starting April 2015. Being employed at both facilities is what led me to fall in love with a career in nursing, all while allowing me to gain a wonderful amount of experience caring for a diverse population as well as working with a diverse population of health care professionals.
I am a dedicated, focused student looking to push the boundaries of Engineering Physics with creative out of the box thinking. I have the drive to be successful and positively represent UBC Engineering Physics. I have a passion for physics and math which is why I believe this program is so appealing and a perfect choice. Compare and contrast the Solow Growth Model with one Endogenous Growth Model In order to compare two models of economic growth, I will look at the primary model of exogenous growth, the Solow model, and ArrowÂ’s endogenous growth theory, based on research and development generated within the system. I will define the models and identify their similarities and differences. The Solow model, or Neoclassical growth model as it is sometimes known, is an example of exogenous growth models. This is to say that the level of economic growth depends on externally determined rates of growth in certain variables.

7. I am applying for a bachelor degree related to finance or business at UBC, because I have always been fascinated by economics and particular how it functions within our society. I guess perhaps it has something to do with my parents, since they both worked in finance. With their encouragement and guidance, I find myself enjoy accounting, marketing and math more than any other courses.
