Washington Square Park is home to thousands of New York University Students, families leisurely strolling through the park on afternoons, people cooling off at the fountain during the summer, couples lounging on the green grass, and even home to the New York City Pillow Fight held during the summer. At the center of Greenwich Village, it provides an escape from the busy traffic and city surrounding it. Most importantly, it is home to the Washington Square Arch.
There were a couple cities other than Olympia that were competing for the title of Washington's capital such as Tacoma, Seattle, Port Townsend, and Vancouver, but Olympia was eventually chosen because of its location. Personally, if I had the chance to move, relocate, or reconstruct Washington's capital, I wouldn't. I would change the capital to be Seattle. My reason is that when people say "Provo" people don't think of Utah, they think, "Where's Provo?" Olympia, to me, has always had a very Oregon feel. Up until recently, when I heard "Olympia", I thought, "Oregon" until I remembered it was the capital of my state. Seattle, however- Everyone knows where Seattle is! Seattle has appeared in many television shows where it was indicated that Seattle is in Washington, such as iCarly. The big city atmosphere, the Space Needle, the advanced tech- It's no wonder people mistake Seattle as the capital of Washington, since it's so well known both in general and for its art and

Whether you want to believe that there are hidden symbols in Washington D.C. or not, the Freemasons played a large part of history as they used their knowledge in designing it. From their experiences and allegiance to strict guidelines, they were able to produce a capitol city from scratch that the rest of the world recognizes. Without this knowledge base that was passed throughout generations, there is no way of knowing what Washington D.C. would be like, and chances are it would have been a catastrophic failure.
Have you been late for the metro, on certain occasions, or has the metro had maintenance, casually most of the time, well I am here to discuss this problem and give my own personal opinions and experiences.
...nd in very different parts of the country. My experience points to the fact that one is not better than the other…simply different. Both the city and the country have great things to offer, and they both have disadvantages; it all depends on what a person is looking for in their life.
In today's day and age, an increasing urgency must be put on the issue of transportation and its relation to society. Man owes it to himself to address the issue of transportation with practicality and, as one of the biggest polluters, ultimate discretion. One of the most practical and responsible forms of transportation available today is mass transit. However, a problem is present in American society in that mass transit is not as plentiful as it should be. Societies' across the globe are embracing mass transit much more quickly than Americans are. This problem can be remedied through proper education of the benefits of mass transit. Mass transit is the ideal future of travel for several reasons. Of note: “mass transit costs less to the community, needs less urban space, is less energy-intensive, pollutes less, is the safest mode, improves accessibility to jobs, and offers mobility for all” (1). Mass transit is also a highly flexible mode of transportation, with many different methods of travel available. Of note for these: metros, buses, carpooling, light rail, and waterborne transports. Proponents of mass transit claim it will find solutions to problems concerning the economy, the environment, and the energy crisis, as well as improving overall quality of life (2). Each of these ideas will be examined more in-depth.

construction with speed limits of 65 to 70 miles per hour and traffic usually exceeds those speeds. Traffic jams happen daily, and getting to and from work can take an hour or more in Houston. Metro, the public bus system in Houston, is used regularly by people to save on gas and time commuting to and from work. Getting from one side of Houston to another can take one to two hours depending on traffic and the time of day. Commuting in Victoria is much less stressful and take far less time than commuting in
Here on the east coast, we have Baltimore, MD and many surrounding neighborhoods. Currently, I live just five to ten minutes away from the city in the respectable working class district. On my way to class at the University of Baltimore, I usually avoid the highway due to high traffic and drive through local and back roads. Here, I can see distinct changes occurring from how far or close I am to my home. When I get closer to the city, there is an apparent existence of poverty. Usually there are no single homes, and apartments are side by side with some potentially burned through. The city also contains more litter along the streets as well as numerous potholes and bumps on the road. There are many people who loiter in front of corner stores and side shops. Land use is different because there are less living organisms such as trees and grass. Instead, cities are filled with many buildings to provide jobs for people of society. In addition, there is a large emphasis placed on public transportation in the city. Because driving can become difficult in the city, many people choose to take public transportation. The convenience of MTA allows individuals to get to many places within the city, but it is difficult to get far from the city. There’s also an abundance of law enforcement in the city due to higher crime-rate. While driving through the city, you may see
Public transportation is an essential part of a city. A good public transit can encourage a city’s economic activities and can provide its citizen a convenient life. Does our Phoenix public transit work well? Does it provide sufficient service to the citizen? From my experience, the answer is no. This November I tried to attend the popular State Fair in Phoenix. However, I found that there were not any buses or metros could take me to the fair directly. It means I need 2 hours or more spend on the public transits. As the sixth most populous city nationwide (“Phoenix Quick Fact” 1), compared with Los Angeles and other big cities in America, Phoenix’s public transportation is indeed subpar. Due to Los Angeles has 154 bus lines and 30 metros (“Schedule”), New York has 316 bus lines and 28 subways(“Maps & Timetables”), while Phoenix only has 98 bus lines, and the number of metro line is only one! (“Route Schedules & Maps”) The problem is
Apartments can be very affordable in a rent-controlled neighborhood, and are much more feasible for families, or students just starting out on their own; whereas, in the country, you may have to buy a home or find hard to find cheap rentals. Transportation costs, groceries, taxes, and utilities are common expenditures for any adult. But, many may find that a large amount of money can be saved on these living expenses in a city.
