The purpose of the experiment is to identify the factors or combination of factors influence the shrinkage or widening of cotton clothes when washing and drying. The information obtained from the experiment would help making a better decision when doing laundry. The experiment was performed in a public Laundromat. All samples were taken from the same shirt (100% Cotton). Also, each sample was cut roughly to 5 in x 1.5 in. A simple plastic ruler was used for measurements due to lack of adequate equipment. The factors that were inquired were the washing type (Cold or Hot), drying type (High or Low), and detergent type (Powder or Liquid). Following are pictures of the samples and the factors inquired. Figure 1. Liquid detergent Figure 2. Powder detergent Figure 3. Washing Type (high setting) Figure 4. Washing Type (low setting) Figure 5. The aim of this paper is to take an in-depth look at the emotion of disgust, and explore what role (if any) it should play in morality. The issue of what role disgust should have in morality is disputed by advocates and skeptics. In what follows, I will outline this dispute and show the arguments each side makes. Following that, I will take a look into Kelly’s view which takes the skeptical stance, but differs in how he comes to take that stance. Next I will show how Kelly uses his view to disprove the disgust advocates’ arguments. Finally, I will illustrate a promising line of argument that may give hope to the disgust advocates, in light of Kelly’s powerful skeptical stance.
On the first day of my clinicals for my certification as a Nurses Aid, an older nurse who had been working at this care center for almost twelve years, looked my group in the eyes and with the least emotion possible told us “The people here are going to die, so do yourself a favor and don’t get too attached.”. I know that’s probably the worst thing a nurse working in an old person’s home could say to a group of wide eyed, excited, new CNAs but I never took it to heart. After a week of working there the rumors I heard about the nurse staff and the residents had me reconsidering my choice. This was my senior year of high school, possibly the most emotional, confusing, and fast paced year of my life and I was spending it working with people
Murder is an inexcusable crime that deserves harsh penalties when committed. In the short story, “Just Lather, That’s All” by Hernando Tellez, murder as a means of revenge is unjustifiable. Murder as a means of revenge is unjustifiable in the short story "Just Lather, That's All" because the barber is too proud to kill, the barber has a risk of being executed, and the barber is not a killer. Weaving is a common thread among cultures around the world. Weaving is a way of producing cloth or textile. Today we have machines that weave large-scale textiles at cheap prices. Production of cloth by hand is rarely engaged in today’s Westernized societies. Not many people are thinking about how the fibers are actually constructed to make their clothes. However, in other cultures across the world the tradition of weaving still exists. By comparing three cultures that continue weaving as a part of their tradition we can see similarities and the differences between them. The reasons that each culture still weaves vary, as do the methods and materials. The desired characteristics of the cloth also vary around the world as each culture values different aesthetics.

Would you eat at a restaurant that is known to have failed one or more health inspections? There are many reasons a food service operation could fail a health inspection. Food safety and sanitation is a very important part of the food service industry, which is why the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued minimum safety standards that must be followed to protect the public health. Although individual cities have the right to increase their standards, they cannot fall below the standards already set by the FDA. According to the National Restaurant Association (2008, 2010), the FDA provides a Food Code but it is a food service operation’s responsibility to implement the code (p. ix).
Many systems for humans would not function without clean water, such as: water supply, sanitation, agriculture, and health, which are dependent on fresh water supply.
The process of water purification is primarily for removing contaminants from raw water in order to make it drinkable for humans. There are substances in raw water which need to be removed to be considered “safe” to be consumed by humans. These substances include parasites, bacteria, algae, several different viruses, fungi, man-made chemical pollutants, and certain unsafe minerals. Examples of these minerals can be toxic metals such as lead or copper. It is essential that these are removed for water that is meant to be drank.
