Was It A Cold War?

Tensions were running high post World War II, everyone struggling for the claim of power. It was these same struggles for power that lead to the start of the space race, arms race, and Cold War. The United States and the Soviet Union were experiencing the most of these tensions. The two super-powers to competing for influence on other countries. The Cold War was a political and Military War, done with very little actually fighting. The war was not actually “cold” though, the war was very real and very dangerous. Both countries had a constant threat to the other, and another World War could have sparked at any moment.

The United States were known for officially ending World War II, when the nation use nuclear weapons to destroy Japan and force surrender. After the Allied Powers successfully defeated the Axis powers, there was a race for more nuclear power. After the US had shown their willingness to use nuclear weapons if needed, other countries felt they needed the same power.
