Harry Potter fan or not, you’ll love Warner Bros studio tour!

In 1990, on a delayed train journey from Manchester to London kings cross, JK Rowling conceived the idea of Harry Potter. Little did she know that this young wizard, who was introducing us to the wizarding world, would spark a nationwide frenzy and would eventually turn into seven books and eight screenplays. Over the next five years, she began to map out all seven books of the series and published the first one the Philosophers stone in 1997. From that moment on, there wasn’t a child across the world who didn’t know his name. The studio allows you to have a behind the scene tour of the sets (the original ones!), costumes, props and it shows you how Quidditch was really filmed. Once you’ve arrived at Warner Bros, collected your ticket and watched the introduction to the studio, the magic becomes reality as you set foot through the great hall doors. The great hall displays the individual houses with their uniforms and at the very far end is the teacher's table. As the guide tells you more about the set and the history behind some of the embellishments, it starts to sink in that you’re standing in the actual great hall that was used for filming. After looking around the great hall, you can have a look at the different costumes that were worn by the actors and the masks and special effect makeup that had to be handmade to fit the individual actor- it's amazing! For a Harry Potter fan, it's amazing to see how their favorite characters were brought to life from the books to the big screen with the help of hundreds of costumes and makeup pieces specifically made for them.
