When it comes to famous animators, Walt Disney is the most common people of today talk about. However, what they don’t realize is that there are other animators out there that are just as famous as Disney. While Disney is without a doubt one of the greatest and most influential animators of all time, there are two that I feel like are on the same level; Ralph Bakshi and Hayao Miyazaki. These two, in my own opinion, are the greatest animators in history. Some of their work is so underrated and influential, that many people have no idea what they’re missing. So that begs the question, who truly is the greatest animator of all time?

Then, in 1925, they created a short called “Steamboat Willie,” the first-ever all-sound cartoon, starring their new character and mascot for Walt Disney studios, Mickey Mouse. It quickly became one of the most successful theme parks in history with over 6.7 million people visiting in 1966. The idea of the theme park came from the time he took his Daughters, Sharon and Diane, to amusement parks and watching them have fun on the rides (www.notablebiographies.com/De-Du/Disney-Walt.html.). There were plans to build another amusement park in Florida, however, he was diagnosed with lung cancer during construction. On December 15, 1966, Walter Elias Disney died of lung cancer at the age of 65. Disney was cremated and his ashes were interred in the Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles, California
