Walter Elias Disney was the founder of the motion picture company Walt Disney Productions. Walt Disney was the creator of many original movies that we call classics today. He portrayed the saying “hard work pays off” perfectly because nothing came easy for him. There were social, economic, and cultural influences on Walt Disney which affected his lifetime achievements. Walt Disney worked toward a lot of achievements in his lifetime and also accomplished a lot. Walt created many movies and plays and really brought attention to the theater field (Harmon 1). He was the creator of the series Laugh-O-Gram which was a collection of short animated cartoons (Biography.com). He also created the world famous character Mickey Mouse which first appeared in the short films “Plane Crazy” and “The Gallopin” (Biography.com). Walt was very well educated and took courses at three different schools. He attended Mckinley High School in Chicago, took night courses at Chicago Art Institute, and went to the Kansas City Art Institute and School of Design (Biography.com). All of these institutes and schools had a big influence on Walt Disney because that's where he learned the art of filmmaking and photography. At one point in his career Walt was working three jobs, going to school, and making films. In his teenage years Walt moved to Chicago and this also had a big influence on him because when you are in a big city like Chicago you have access to a lot of resources. He also read a lot as a young boy and as I stated earlier he loved the novel’s that Horatio Alger would right about poor boys who made it big and fulfilled their dreams. When Walt was sixteen he dropped out of high school and joined the red cross and was deployed to France (Biography.com). This exposed Walt to a brand new culture and new resources as he was learning
