Many people now a day, often spend time playing video games and not socializing with family, which may also cause the misunderstanding of how other people view it. Video games were created for entertainment and educational purposes. The video game’s system has advanced technology and evolves every year.There are a lot of negative and positive effects of video games and people have an argument over it for a very long time. The positive effects of video games outweighs the negative in many ways, including improving intellectual skills, helping with social interaction, and stress relief. Playing video games is another efficient way to improve intellectual skills and encourage people to learn. Base on my own and my acquaintances who does not speak Video games can help with stress relief and relaxing themselves. According to Isabela Granic, video games can also improve players’ moods, promote relaxation and ward off anxiety. Usually adults at about age 30 or more do not really think that video game can actually help relieve stress or something more like “There are a lot more better ways that you can relax than playing useless game,” but the point to that is some teenagers do not have an interest in other things and tend to find video game interesting. Violent game such as Grand Theft Auto can help relieve player’s stress and frustration by throw out their frustration to non player characters in the game. “When people vent their frustration and anger in their game, this diffuse their stress” (The Positive and Negative Effects of Video Games). In addition, everyone have their own way of relief stress however for gamers, the best way to relief stress is to change their frustration and stress into will power to clear the game. “Both men and women who play violent video games seem to be able to adopt mental skills to handle stress, become less depressed and get less hostile during stressful tasks” (Lee np). Despite the fact that video game can relief stress, video game also gives a motivation to move one self or exercise. There are many games that design to inspire people to be healthier by eating right and exercise. Some role play or simulation games give people a chance to act or play in a role they choose such as doctor who give advice to their patient how to become healthy or an athlete who want to become pro. “Video gaming can be used to enhance students’ proficiency in using technology to support physical activity” (Willis 71).Now a day, there are many sport games that require player to move their body along by using controller.
