It was by no means a graceful re-entry to awareness. Elsie blinked a couple of times trying to wrap her head around what had happened. It was only when she sat up did she notice that she was in a room but it wasn't her bedroom or any of her friends. It looked too grand, too well kept. Almost like a display model in one of the houses that was maintained by the National Trust frowning, Elsie ran a hand over her face. “This has to be one crazy dream...yeah, a dream and any moment Keely or Ailsa will wake me up. Any moment now,” Elsie willed herself but deeply she knew this wasn't a dream. Flopping back she placed both hands over her eyes and frowned into them, trying to remember what had exactly happened. Keely had missed her by inches but there wasn't much after that except for the feeling of falling into freezing cold water and then...nothing. Letting out a frustrated sigh Elsie spoke out loud to herself, something she did when she knew nobody else was about: “Where am I?” “You're in Minas Tirith,” a voice informed Elsie. The blonde let out an involuntarily squeak and removed her hands from her face. She hadn't even heard anybody entering the room. Taking a few breaths, Elsie collected composure and looked up to the person, the woman, who had entered the room. “Where?” Elsie asked. “I've...never heard of it...” “You've never heard of the White City?” the woman answered, sounding a little shocked. “Um, no....sorry,” Elsie said, a red blush creeping across her face. “How did I get here?” The question had been circling her head for a while now. It wasn't like she miraculously appeared somewhere and everybody would be completely cool with it. Elsie knew this and was determined to find out what had happened. “You were found outs... ... middle of paper ... ...ent of debate after Mysie asked what country they were in. “It's in Middle Earth,” Merry stated, studying Mysie curiously. “Okay, now I really wish we had Keely here,” Torri muttered. “She knows about Geography shizzle.” “Look, we don't really know what happened,” Mysie said honestly. “It you gives us, I dunno, an hour we can explain...as best as we can. We just want to find our friends but we're...well stuck and it would be a massive help if you could help us, even just for a while.” Their was a brief conferring between the males before they nodded. “Thank you so much for this,” Mysie said brightly. “My name's Mysie by the way and this is my sister Torri and our friend Laire.” “My name's Sam,” he gestured to the rest. “This is Frodo, Merry and Pippin.” “Great, pleasantries all round,” Torri said brightly. “We'll let you guys lead the way then.” And they set off.
The silence was okay, she could’ve lived with that. But it was the coldness that scared her; the coldness suspended in the air between them: her mommy washing dishes in the kitchen, head bent, hair swooped to the side, hiding her left cheek, and her daddy, sitting on the sofa reading the Sunday paper in silent indifference. She was caught in the middle, with her toys scattered around her, shivering at the coldness of it all. She knew.
“Hey, you!” said a voice far down in the hallway. “So you’re the new girl, huh?”
She waved the explanation off. “Don’t worry about it. I don’t blame you any. I blame that damn ghost. I mean, if it wasn’t for you or your friends, I probably wouldn’t be here today. I thank you for saving me.” She smiled at him once again.
“I woke up from the nightmares with a cold fear,” she said. “I came to a point where I didn’t want to die, but just wanted to be dead.”
Paleness rushes over Janine’s body as she stands there; her face looking as if she seen a ghost. With no hesitation, she slowly shuts the door. The women knocks again, but this time Janine doesn’t answer. “What are you doing here? Go away!” Janine says.
“Well what happened last pageant? Were you just not prepared enough?” Averie asked, very confused and interested at the same time.
About an hour had passed and the two girls were trying to get some sleep, but neither of them could. Clementine’s arm still stung with pain, and Ellie was too cold and upset to even think about sleep. But after what felt like forever, they both finally managed to doze
Isabelle just sat there on the ground, anger building up inside her. It was quite obvious especially with that bulging vein on her neck.
“It was you and me, Addy.” Beth said reminding her finally of them and acknowledging that it was never going to be them, it was always going to be
“It was my pleasure.” She says “I also have some things to give you guys. Before, you leave of course.”
“Riley, Aden.” Mrs. Warren greets both of us with a hug as she comes out to see us.
“It’s cool,” I heard him say. I slowly pulled the chocolate off the counter, my eyes still fixed on the girl. She looked up at me and smiled, glancing around awkwardly and looking back to me and waving. Feeling embarrassed, I turned my gaze back to the ground, not so quickly that anybody would know I was staring but just fast enough to avoid the girl. I realized how weird I probably looked standing there so I went outside, feeling a blast of freezing air hit me like a thousand pins and needles being driven into my skin.
Sasaki-san smiles, “Tanomura-san and the others are back already. We’re going to eat soon. Let’s go back together.”
“I was hoping you could help me, I’m new here and I don’t really know where I need to go, I’m Abbey by the way”
