these bear a serve problems of pollution of air,water and land.Various types of the gases and fumes that come up into atmosphere from fuel burning sources from municipal areas,transport sectors and industries cause severe air pollution. Principal pollutants of air in urban areas comprise dust particles,particulates of various compounds and gases like water vapour, smokes ,carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide ,sulphur oxides and chlorofluorocarbons etc. that can form acids on combining with water vapour sunlight.These acids get deposited on dust particles in atmosphere and anything else.This process is called as…show more content…
Solid wastes generate from municipal and industrial sources containing large number of ingredients some of which remain toxic in nature. Urban areas are usually densely populated locations. People migrating from villages to towns in search of jobs and livelihood. Thus urban areas suffer congestion and traffic problems .This also effect the availability of social facilities such as drinking water, regular electricity, hygienic environment .Juggi, Jhopari clusters are mushrooming around every city. These are called slums. Slums are very unhygienic places as they don’t have proper civic amenities. India has 3120 towns and only about 210 out of them were have sewage treatment plants along with air pollutant control units,proper waste management units etc. by 1980 and now it is increased to 385 .This fact shows us that where we was and how much we have to grow. There is a lot to do in this aspect to make our cities a place of hygiene along with every social amenities to provide a better life to its
