Internship Goals Paper: Indianapolis Zoo
I wanted an internship that would be an out of the box experience. When I turned to the Indianapolis Zoo for that experience I was not disappointed. In my first two weeks, the zoo has begun to assist with my personal and professional growth while also teaching me about the world around me. I have had different tasks for each day. This internship will be a personal challenge for being, but a great place to grow and develop my professional skills. I appreciate that my supervisor never had unrealistic expectations. The public relations team was always available to answer my questions.
Professional Goals
Within my first two weeks, I have done a great deal of practice. I practiced photography, creating social media content, and conducted a large number of media relations. During my first day as the public relations intern, Carla assigned social media as my main task. At some point, I will be creating content for their social media page daily. Content such as zoo news updates, posts about our #IndyMonkeys campaign, current events and more. Currently, I am having difficulty with the social media personality of the zoo. In the near future, I should understand it more and have less trouble with their message. During the summer and my internship I am generating

I would like to take on more assignment and to become independent with those assignments. I am given daily tasks that I finish within the workday. In the rare occasion that I did not complete an assignment, I finish it within the first hour of the next day. One of my ongoing weekly tasks has been to prepare posts. I create social media content for the week and I prepare content for the weekend. I would like to work more on the #IndyMonkeys campaign and work more with the media. By the fourth week of the internship, I should have a comfortable weekly
Internships provide students with opportunities to apply theoretical and basic knowledge gained in the classroom. During the field placement period, the agency supervisor becomes the primary teacher, aside from the clients, in the student's day-to-day learning. The supervisor is responsible for coordinates the student's overall experience by helping the student integrate the various pieces of the Field Internship. However, to make the placement, a positive experience supervisor need to be aware of student’s strengths, and learning needs to match assignments accordingly.
For eight weeks, I gave up the traditional summer activities. Rarely did I see my friends, go out to social events, nor did I have spending money. I gave up two months because I knew the reward would be much greater than the risk. The sacrifice I made seemed immense at first, but I know that this can only help me in the future. I am truly grateful for the opportunity and recommend this internship to anyone willing to make the sacrifice as well.
It made me realize there are tons of jobs other than being a police officer and I was interested in what they do. I was satisfied with my job placement and I would recommend future students on attaining an internship here that is in the Bucks County area. It provided experience, and hands on learning that is valuable to anyone in this field. There would be no changes I would make with their internship program. I liked how they let me go on my own to do tasks and not be just getting people coffee and filing. It provides a real learning experience and can also see different sides of the criminal justice
Internships play an important role in the career development and recruitment process of young professionals and soon-to-be college graduates. Internships come in two forms: paid and unpaid. Paid internships are most commonly procured in the private sector or in organizations that have financial stability to pay students to gain experience and learn while they work. Unpaid internships are becoming increasingly common in the current workplace where some businesses are cutting costs and downsizing due to economic struggles. The following paper will show the negative effects of unpaid internships and how unpaid internships challenge ethical business practices.

In the hospital, I've got to be in touch with real patients and I even got to treat them. I would ask the patients how they are doing and give them some water if they needed it. The staff also gave me a green light and allowed me to talk to patients and connect to them freely. When you talk to the patients, you can really learn a lot from them. .This experience benefited me because I was exposed to the real world and real world problems. The hospital experience also opened my heart as some of the patients were in terrible condition. It made me realize how fortunate I am and also made me grateful for all the blessings in my life. I can only thank God for that. Another benefit that I got from my internship was having the chance to develop cooperation skills with colleagues. I cooperated with the doctors and hospital staff to get jobs done. They have given me important tasks which I completed. They also give me 100% responsibility when working in the
Would you want to work for free? Without receiving money or school credit for your work? Sadly, this is a situation many universities have set up for their students, benefitting themselves and corporations. Universities must put the students first, not themselves, by providing school credit towards graduation and by ensuring that internships posted on campus and campus websites are paid internships.
Inspired to write as an adolescent and influence as by the creative visuals of Social Media, I have found myself interested in building a successful career in communications and interactive media. I am a multi-talented professional with a variety of experiences as well as demonstrating knowledge in office practices and procedures. 100% innovative and creative with strong leadership qualities; with a background in Marketing, Social Media, Communications, Customer Relations, Journalism, Media, Office Coordinating and Management. As an undergraduate studying communication arts at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, I have gained a variety of experience that I have utilized daily in my current positions as a sub-contractor for the Department of
Volunteering at Animal Talk was really an eye-opening experience. For my whole life, I have loved taking care of animals, and by volunteering at Animal Talk, I was able to see what really went into the process of caring for animals. I was able to learn valuable information while doing something I love, because Missy actually wanted to teach me. Learning how to care for animals made me re-visit my childhood dream of becoming a vet and I hope to pursue it in the future.
My summer internship placement was Arise for Social Justice in Springfield Massachusetts for 10 weeks. I worked on anything the office needed, including answering phones, making copies, organizing food donations, and things I was not aware of I would take on addressing a lack of transparency the organization was lacking. My original hope was to work on environmental issues in the city primarily, however the issues I worked on the most were post environmental disaster relief. When I was notified I attended public hearings and community meetings later in the evening around other issues I am focusing part of my thesis cap stone project for the Honors College.
My internship experience this semester was interesting. I interned at ESH/MESH with Bridgeway. My Supervisor was Emilie Banz. I didn’t do much but I did learn a lot from this experience. I met a lot of great people and watch PsyR in action. I met a couple of individuals who were really cool. My experience this semester has prepared me for the next.
In particular, it was helpful to here from individuals on the panel that were graduates from our program. Elizabeth Cowart, a LPC at Transitions of Augusta, informed my classmates and I about about her personal internship experiences. She noted four key things (1) the importance of getting as much hands-on experience as possible (2) taking a mental note of the what you like and dislike at each internship site (3) using weekly supervision hours to discuss your areas of strengths and weaknesses and (4) remembering to always maintain a professional image. In addition, she also gave a brief overview of opportunities (e.g., adolescent group therapy, child and parent therapy, disability evaluations, etc.) that interns might have at Transitions of
What are the benefits and advantages of internships? Internships help you gain exposure to real issues not found in textbooks, it also helps to increase your skills that are readily marketable from doing an internship. Interning can provide you with personal growth experiences and exposure to different job opportunities. Internships give you the opportunity to evaluate potential employers nearly risk free, which is a plus. I did an internship for a year at my church. The first thing I had to do was find the facility I was going to do the internship with. The next thing was to engage a suitable mentor for the work I was going to do as an intern. After talking to two perspective mentors one was chosen. Your mentor has to be dedicated to your success, and your spiritual growth. He or she must not be afraid of telling you the truth, and make sure you can follow instructions. An internship helps you to clarify your goals, gain experience by applying your knowledge and skills in work related situations.
It was not at all what I thought it would be and I honestly realized along the way this is not a department I would want to work in. The desk work and the constant time on the computer really turns me off from working in any department that entails sitting in one spot for six hours. To counter that I did go out to shoot promotional videos and I had the opportunity to go to some events that I would never be able to go to without 6abc, but the time spent at the desk really makes those events less intriguing. I was hoping to do a lot more on camera projects when starting this internship, but I spent a lot of time behind the camera which I was not used to. I do think that having this internship was very important because it taught me a lot about how much goes into promoting a news station. I now appreciate all of the people that aren’t on television because they do most of the dirty work. Our talent do write some of their stories, but their job seems a lot more relaxing than some of the other employees. I loved interacting with the talent more than anything because I hope one day to be in their shoes. Adam Joseph is such a sweetheart and I am honored to have worked closely with him on projects along with all of the 6abc talent. Watching them with fans at events make me even more driven to be the best I can be and get a fan base like they all have
Internships are optional experiences to take in order to have an idea of how our future will be with the career that we choose at college or university. Not many majors or countries offer to help the students on the professional field. Finding a job can be hard nowadays, but being open to applying for challenges, such as unpaid internship opens more opportunities for job hunting after graduation. Doing an internship during school hours have more at outlook on the transcript because the grade of the internship will stay on the transcript. Also, the knowledge is recent and the brain is ready to learn more. Internships prepare the people for the future and to know what to expect from the job they apply for. Personally, I have done an unpaid internship and would do another one any day.
