Child care centers should provide a loving, structured environment with stimulating colors, sounds, textures, well designed classroom layout, varying activities and books. Children learn routines and how to have expectations that helps them to look forward to what’s going to happen next. This helps them know what is going to happen next and gives a sense of security and belonging. Once they are settled into the structure and routine of the preschool classroom, it begins to build a solid framework for their future school career which will be much more structured and demanding routine.

For my curriculum, I will focus on specific goals that the parents or guardians have for their child. The main purpose of early childhood education is for children to gain socialization and become familiar with educational structure. Barnett (2011) suggests “Early educational intervention can have substantive short- and long-term effects on cognition, social-emotional development, school progress, antisocial behavior, and even crime” (p. 6). Children who enter Preschools, Daycares and Head Start will have benefits which will increase children’s language and literacy and comprehension skills. LA Mona’s Curriculum will prepare children for formal education.
These activities can enhance children's’ lives, increase their development and supply them with the tools they need for the future. Children who participate in preschool get to connect with peers and discover the art of socializing. When it is time to go to kindergarten, children who have attended preschool are inclined to be more mentally prepared because they are already acquainted to a certain level of structure. Quality preschool programs can enhance children's’ lives, build social skills and enhance their development. When children are able to socialize they build many necessary tools they will use through out the rest of their lives.
