On a different note, UAE’s culture is very diverse and interesting however; there are also many issues in the nation. While the education in the nation is among the best in the region, it is still secondary in regards to that of the western nations. The issues in education are not as major as other aspects of the nation however, the nation does need to encourage technical knowledge, and improve their quality assurance. The way they measure the students’ performances needs an improvement and they need to expand their curriculum to be able to compete at the world stage in other aspects other than oil (United Arab Emirates (UAE)). Another issue in the culture of UAE comes with the health of the nation, with the leading cause of death being cardiovascular issues with around 28% of the deaths in the nation. In an attempt to solve the health issues, they began making health insurance mandatory for its citizens causing some uproar because of the cost.
Simultaneously, as UAE’s culture is diverse and interesting, so is their government. The government of the nation is a federation containing hereditary monarchies. The governing body of the nation is considered a Federal Supreme Council with seven emirs of Fujairah, Sharjah, Dubai, Ras al-Khaimah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, and Umm al-Oaiwain. An emir translated to English means a commander or prince. Emir is a title of office in the Muslim world essentially they are high-ranking sheiks. The way the federal government is maintained is by a percentage of each monarchies budget is given to the central body, a very small percentage.
