A uncivilized place or society is somewhere that the rules are unfair. And a place that the way of life is biased over one gender or race over another. Or bad events or acts that have happen or is happening to the the people in the society. The Igbo society can be classified as an uncivilized because of their way of life.the uncivilized way of life is from the gender roles that take place, the unfair government trial system, and the evil beliefs that the society has. Most of the Igbo people try to have the most domains that they can get so they will beat people to show their domains to the other that live in the Igbo society.“Okonkwo was not the man to stop beating somebody half-way through, not even for fear of at god”(Achebe,1994,p.30). Okonkwo beats his wife to show that he is the dominants between his other wives and the others of the tribe. The court system only consist of the elders of the village but, all of the elders are males. And because they are males so they are biased to the other males so it can become an unfair court trial for the women of the village because the elder’s side with the men.
