Has anyone ever wondered who was behind the magic way of knowing how healthy a baby is in a fetus or the gender of a person’s baby? In fact, some people know exactly who it is behind the magic. These people are called Ultrasound Sonographers. They are important to the medical field because of all the good things they do for their patients. Ultrasound Technicians are relevant to the global community because they’re the reason people know that their baby is healthy and is doing well while they’re in the patients’ stomachs, additionally, identifying the educational requirements, salary, job security, and job responsibilities should be used as a guide when considering this career. Hospitals, vocational schools, and universities provide a range of certificates, diplomas, and bachelor’s degrees that would be acceptable to most employers and it could get them recognized in the industry. Sonography programs require students to participate in supervised clinical training in a professional setting. An ultrasound technician plays a valuable role in medical diagnostics. They need to go to school and do all the things required to become one so they can further their career. Ultrasound technicians need to know the right skills and strategies of the career so they can perform well on their job. While certification may not be required by all states, it does prove to potential employers that an applicant has the ability to work in this field. Ultrasound technicians mainly operate machines called sonographic scanners that create images of patients’ internal organs. “Ultrasound technicians usually explain the procedure to the patient as well as program and adjust the scanner for the specific procedure (Duties).” They are just explaining what is going to be happening during procedure. They need to make sure that the patient knows what’s going on during their time being in the room. “Unless the sonographer is making a video recording of the ultrasound images, he or she decides which still images, called sonograms, to capture and show to the physician for diagnostic purposes. Although the obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound associated with developing fetuses is the most commonly known procedure in the field, the ultrasound technician may also work as a specialist in neurological (brain), breast, heart or abdominal sonography (Duties).” An ultrasound technician has different types of duties and responsibilities that they perform.
