Did you now that anyone can get diabetes. No one knows the exact causes of any of the types of diabetes. My goal of this paper is to show you facts on diabetes. If you, family member, or a friend gets it, or can get it you know some facts about it so you are not clueless.
First I will talk about Type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is similar to Type 2 but Type 1 is most common in kids and type 2 is most common in adults. According to Mayo Clinic type 1 diabetes is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. Insulin is hormone needed to allow glucose to enter cells to produce energy. The peaks are 4-7 and 10-14. People with Type 1 are often skinny to normal weight they often lose weight before they were diagnosed with Type 1. Type 1 is 5-10% of all cases of diabetes. He was in his early 30s when he was diagnosed and he had learned that most people have diabetes on average of 10 years before they are diagnosed so he said he was might have been in his early 20s then. He has also learned that people that are in minority populations are more likely to become diabetic such as African-American, Native-American, Hispanic, and Asian. He said it is very difficult physically because you need insulin or pills, a diet and, exercise to control the high glucose in the blood. It is also difficult sociologically because people watch what you eat, criticize you and tell you incorrect information or information you already know. My dad also said it’s hard emotionally because you have to change your life style which is hard and frustrating to be chronically ill. Also you can’t live a normal life
