Making America Great Again Following A Trump Presidential Victory With a reckless Trump presidency on the horizon posing a severe threat to American power and standing amongst allied and hostile nations alike, a broader strategy shift is required within the Republican establishment to mitigate or eliminate the Trump threat. The primary races and popular support for Sanders and Trump (both vocal anti-establishment candidates) have shown that much of America is dissatisfied with the status quo in the economical, domestic and foreign policy, and political arenas. Trump has pursued an antagonistic rhetoric capitalizing on the widespread American sense of helplessness regarding the lack of jobs, deteriorating public services (transportation, healthcare, …show more content…
Trump’s heavy-handed approach toward belligerent and ally alike could harm relations, further reduce America influence on the world stage. Additionally, Trump’s stance toward Mexican immigration (which is now in reverse) could easily damage the massive trade deals between America and Mexico that the U.S. economy relies upon. Unlike most candidates however, Trump has been able to avoid being brought down by controversy, despite the seemingly unending stream of statements and events that would have destroyed most other candidates. Trump is far from infallible, though if he plays his cards right, he will most likely be able to win the election. While he has done incredibly well up till now running on a business-experience background and appealing to Americans, he will need to show he has a handle on the political realm in order to win the general election. If he’s as intelligent as they say, he’ll choose a …show more content…
First, the Republicans should position a loyal party member for the vice presidential role (preferably someone well liked by both sides of the aisle), and influential Republicans whose support Trump is trying to win should strongly voice their recommendation in favor of said Republican vice presidential selection. In all of Trumps years conducting real estate and other business deals, it is almost a guarantee that some sort of fraud was committed (bribery, tax evasion, or something of the sort). The Republicans should dig into his life until they find said fraud, and keep it a secret until after he is elected. Then, a month or two after the elections, when most presidents see a dip in their favorability polls, the Republicans should anonymously release the details of said fraud to the press, and persuade a Democrat to call for impeachment. With majority Republican establishment support, given the congressional Republican majority, the two-third vote necessary for impeachment should be possible (especially given Democratic dislike of Trump). If the Republicans act apologetic when impeaching one of their own, and have the press make a big enough splash that it appears they must act against Trump’s illegal actions, then the Republicans will save face, and have their preferred vice president take over the presidency. This move would not only neutralize the Trump
Donald J. Trump, is known to many as the orange man who wags his finger down a long table of celebrities firing them left and right every Sunday night on NBC. To others he is known as the billionaire tycoon, who graces our headlines for remarkably insensitive or oddball remarks. All (not even possibly Mr. Trump himself), at least until now, viewed him as a possible candidate for the next President of the United States. But as polls indicate, and citizens across the country (both moderate and conservative) vote in favor of Trump, he may very well be sitting in the oval office come January 20th, 2017. Whether this strikes fear in your heart, or tremendous hope is beside the matter, no one can deny the fervor and mania Trump
America is long overdue for a series featuring Asian American characters. As New York Times writer Wesley Yang points out, ”Fresh Off the Boat would be the first network sitcom to star an Asian-American family in 20 years and only the third attempt by any major network in the history of the medium.” ABC is offering a slate of new programs deliberately focused on diversity. ““Its our job to reflect America,” ABC-TV head Paul Lee said…” “we didn’t pick up these shows because they were diverse, we picked them up because they were great” (Kang). ABC is taking on the job of reflecting the diverse culture and bringing minorities to the spotlight for the first time. ABC’s determination in bringing in diversity can be seen as programs
Due to Donald Trump’s lack of political experience, preoccupation with multiple careers, and blatantly self-serving intentions, he should not ever have been considered a reasonable candidate for the presidential election.
The 2016 presidential election has been one of the most talked about elections because of one man, Donald Trump. When the billionaire real estate mogul announced that he would be running for the Republican Party candidacy in the 2016 presidential election, he sent this country into an uproar. Donald Trump, who has never shied away from the media, has become one of the most talked about presidential candidate in history. On the day of his announcement for the republican candidacy, he sparked controversy because of his comment about the Mexican people, stating:
Donald Trump has been a bad influence to the United States that doesn’t deserve to be president. The entire thing he has done during his running doesn’t show that is able to be president. Trump is an arrogant person that doesn’t deserve to be president and doesn’t deserve to be able to run a country; he is acting like a child he is not mature to run for
Trump built an Empire and will run America like a business. Trump is an experienced and tough dealmaker. Trump has led large organizations before. Not too many people look beyond his bankruptcies and the fact that he inherited large sums. However, he leads an enormous, diversified organization that is worth billions of dollars. This takes loads of Leadership, which is very different from knowledge. Leading a large organization makes you set vision, goals and expect results. You do not know the little details of every level of your organization just like the president does not know. (You mentally couldn’t know all that) That is why you delegate and empower and get information when it is needed and the president will have no shortage of people ready to educate him on issues. Trump is a negotiator. One of his most under discussed attributes, but yet one of his greatest assets. Trump’s spent his entire life and career making and negotiating deals. In his own words, he negotiates to win.
Jamie is a well-rounded, active child who has developed social skills to make new friends, meet new people and collaborate with others. She has a lot of curiosity about new things and, she likes to challenge new things in any way, and does not let her failures deter her from learning. As for her relationships, I think that she a talent for conveying her thoughts clearly and accurately, through which she expresses her optimism. She is also a compelling speaker, who can persuade family members of their own needs for precise purposes and reasons.
The author implements usage of ethos throughout his editorial column in the New York Times in order to persuade the readers of his argument. To start off with, Kristof has a very credible background to back him up. It includes the likes of graduating from Harvard and being a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner. He has also written as a columnist for the New York Times since 2001, meaning he is established and meant to be trusted by daily readers. This trustworthy background of the author is important because he is showing the audience that he is a credible source and is worth listening to. Statistics play a keen role in helping persuade the audience because it shows reliable information that reader trust and that he is not bias. Kristof states,
With the many suspicions Donald Trump has raised for running to become president, he has proven he is not capable to run the United States. He cannot be in control of money or even be trusted with that big of a job. If he can not keep his little businesses’ from going bankrupt, he does not have the ability to keep the U.S out of debt. By the actions Trump has portrayed to the people, there are very few reasons on why he should become the president. Therefore, in my opinion Donald Trump is not suited to become President and should not be able to take full control over the United
Examining Trump’s rhetoric and past actions, it becomes clear that Trump’s ability to be the leader of America, especially in today’s already heated world climate, becomes questionable. When even the members of his own party refuse to endorse him and claim that he is not qualified to run a country, the general public needs to sit back and question his integrity. In Trump’s past, he has proven to be an insensitive, racist, greedy business man. Why would he prove to be any different once elected to office?
In 102 Minutes, Chapter 7, authors Dwyer and Flynn use ethos, logos, and pathos to appeal to the readers’ consciences, minds and hearts regarding what happened to the people inside the Twin Towers on 9/11. Of particular interest are the following uses of the three appeals.
Amidst the crowded race for the 2016 GOP nomination, one candidate has constantly been making headlines: Donald Trump. Trump has set himself apart from the rest of the candidates as he has become a sort of media sensation. His celebrity makes him a novelty in the journey to the White House, and his incendiary rhetoric has caught the attention of the nation. The contents of Trump’s rhetoric can be broken down into Aristotle’s three artistic proofs, which are described in Topoi: An International Review of Philosophy as: ethos—or character, pathos—drawing on the audience’s emotions, and logos—logical discourse (Meyer 249). Trump’s appeals to logos are weak, so he depends on his appeals to ethos and pathos to make up for his lack of legitimate
In Florence Kelley's speech to the people attending the NAWSA convention, she uses emotional appeal to motivate her audience to convince their male counterparts to legalize voting for women, and also to persuade the males to help put an end to child labor.
Running for the presidency he hopes To recreate American’s who mope A corrupt businessman who will not thrive We need a president to make us strive Not one who cheats us out of our hard work Donald Trump does it with a loud, proud smirk The public wishes he would say goodbye Come on, just quit, we don’t care for more lies Insulting everyone who isn’t white, Girls and immigrants hold a lot of might A wall will not keep our problems out, Equality is what it’s all about.
In the book Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer wrote about Christopher McCandless, a nature lover in search for independence, in a mysterious and hopeful experience. Even though Krakauer tells us McCandless was going to die from the beginning, he still gave him a chance for survival. As a reader I wanted McCandless to survive. In Into the Wild, Krakauer gave McCandless a unique perspective. He was a smart and unique person that wanted to be completely free from society. Krakauer included comments from people that said McCandless was crazy, and his death was his own mistake. However, Krakauer is able to make him seem like a brave person. The connections between other hikers and himself helped in the explanation of McCandless’s rational actions. Krakauer is able to make McCandless look like a normal person, but unique from this generation. In order for Krakauer to make Christopher McCandless not look like a crazy person, but a special person, I will analyze the persuading style that Krakauer used in Into the Wild that made us believe McCandless was a regular young adult.
