However, he is pleased that he can assist in investing in people in the job market, giving them their very first job or just a place to work and for some a place to purse their dream to one day become successful entrepreneurs. Truett Cathy believed in God and kept the faith throughout his career. He believed that no matter what the situation may have been no goal was ever too high to achieve. Truett also believed that one must always maintain care and confidence for themselves. Truett was all about giving to others. He believed that three things was available to share amongst others. The three things that he felt was available to share amongst other are time, love and resources. He willingly gave to others and because he had such a good heart he never expected anything in return. He found more joy in giving to others and seeing them filled with joy vs receiving anything back in return. As Christians we are taught in the word of God that it is better to give then to receive. He felt that an individual should never become overburdened with their personal debt. It was important to Cathy Truett to start early as a teenager to becoming a successful business owner. Determination and striving to what make you as the individual happy and successful was two very important factors to Truett. Truett believed that people should focus on rewarding themselves and make sacrifices to the material things of the world. He believed in being nice and treating people right but also realized that in life being a people pleaser doesn’t always work. It is beneficial as well as very important to properly set the priorities throughout life in the correct order. Truett understood the fact that at some point all successful entrepeneurs faced failure. He was focused and prepared to face the failures that came along with being a business man. In the final two chapters of Every Good Endeavor, Timothy Keller ends his book by discussing the new aims of our work. They are found in the gospel, that power alone should motivate our work. In chapter 11, Keller begins by discussing our ethics and morals, and how the gospel should impact the way view and act in our workplace. Corruption can be found in many aspects of culture and the world. We should not disadvantage others to advantage ourselves. It might make good business sense to operate virtuously, but there are times when it will not. A Christian way of thinking will ultimately result in changing our thoughts on human value. This helps us face very confusing, moral dilemmas. We are forced to ask whether or not we want power, wealth
In her commencement speech she mentions four factors of knowledge that she believes are mandatory for women to remedy. Her idea of a true or good woman is a strong woman who knows what she wants from life, is out to succeed, and will survive. An untrue or bad woman is a lady that is weak, that has a tendency to get run over, and has no real ambition for what she wants to do with her life.

There are countless people who aspire to help people in their lives. However, if you think about it, nearly every career helps others in some way, shape, or form. Teachers, scientists, policemen and various other careers aid people in different ways. I, like many others, have always known that I’ve wanted to help people. Yet, I also want to do more than that. I want to help others, but also save others- emotionally or physically, mentor others, inspire others, and be there for others during their most vulnerable times. This is who I am- and I have always been this person. In first grade, I ran a lemonade stand at my school for the Make-A-Wish Foundation; I got my third grade class to raise money for starving children; and I put up with bullying throughout middle school because I befriended a girl who had trouble making friends on her own. The quality of pure selflessness and care for others that I have always possessed would allow me to do something great with my life- it just took me some time to figure out what.

He started this business believing in working harder than anyone. He treated the people as partners. He agreed that all people liked to be told how much somebody appreciates what they do. He believed you must listen to your associates. He thought you can make a lot of different mistakes and still recover if you run an efficient operation.
The conversation was very insightful and provided me with what I believe to be a good framework for a successful business leader. Business does matters to God. The six main significant ideas are: God´s purpose for business is to serve Him instrumentally, the role of humans as stewards of God´s creation, the identity crisis, the work of Christians in business is to be enabled by the discernment and power of the Holy Spirit, the distortion relationship between institutions, and how can Christians share their faith with other non-Christian coworkers around them. A business exists to serve and therefore it cannot create rivalry or distortion among institutions. A business should work together in concert with other institutions and seek to support them as they generally attain the common good for the society.

Oprah has many inspirational sayings, such as: “Victory, Belief, Wisdom, Life, Integrity, Choice and Celebration,”(Brain Quotes). “Where there is no struggle, there is no strength,” (Brain Quotes) as well as “Right now you are one choice away from a new beginning- one that leads you toward becoming the fullest human being you can be,” which we found to be the most meaningful and impactful to us as a group.
Behaviors Exhibited: Truthful to the religion I served can help in many ways. It gives strength in mind in following God’s will. Doing it by heart gives me a direction whenever I am struggling with loss, anxiousness, and discouraged from work. A person without knowing the truth of God’s wisdom is like a person without having a direction in mind.
