My name is Kelsey and I am 22 years old. I live in the Florida panhandle and have been going to Walt Disney World since I was six years old. I was raised into a family that is incredibly loyal to the Disney brand; we still try and go as a family at least once a year. Now that I am engaged, my fiancé and I have started our own annual tradition, and will hopefully be married there.
In recent years, invasive species have become a significant concern to ecologists in many ecosystems around the globe. Specifically, the explosive of non-native Burmese pythons (Python bivittatus) in the Florida Everglades has become a major concern among ecologists and the general public alike. While it is generally accepted that this population has stemmed from the escape of these snakes from the exotic pet trade (Pyron et al., 2008), and that the snakes have been able to flourish due to the climatic similarities between South Florida and their native regions of subtropic Southeast Asia, scientists are still trying to determine exactly how the python population in the Everglades has managed to become so successful, which is being done by
Is it possible to need reasons to move to Florida? After all, the Sunshine State is hardly a backwater nor does it battle with nasty winter conditions. Still, if your boss comes to you and says he wants you to establish a new base in Fort Meyer or Kissimmee, you should seriously consider Florida and for the following 12 reasons.
Augustine by far, had to be being with my mom all day long. Before coming to Florida, my mother and I rarely spent time together; she worked long shifts at a naval hospital, while I waited at a daycare. What made this trip to St. Augustine so special were the simple things, such as holding my mother’s hand as we navigated through the swarms of people in tight walkways. Another memorable moment came on the trolley, with my mom pointing out the many attractions around the area, such as The Bridge of Lions and Castillo de San Marcos, much to my amazement. St. Augustine marked the beginning of much more mother and daughter outings, with this trip in particular being my
“Just hold on babe we will be their in a moment. Now turn around so I can put this blind fold on you,”he said stubernly.
The warm weather, beach waves, a warm breeze. A place with all those characteristics is Florida. Florida is a nice place to go and relax at the beach with friends and family. If i could visit one place in the world it would be Florida because of the beaches, tasty foods, and fun amusement park.
It was the middle of winter, and to get away from the cold my family and I decided to take a vacation somewhere warm and enjoyable. We decided to go to Florida and enjoy the warm and beautiful beaches. I pictured the ocean as being a place of peace and serenity. It was my first time visiting the ocean, and all I hoped for was the ocean to be as beautiful as the pictures I had seen of it. As we arrived at Clearwater Beach in Florida, the eagerness of seeing this peaceful place was rising. I couldn’t wait to smell the fresh salty air, and feel the soft sand between my toes.
My heart was filled with so much joy as the day approached for us to head to Miami, Florida for our annual family reunion. We all got up around 4:00 a.m. that night to head out. Many of my family from all over Georgia planned to trail behind one another to enjoy the journey. Some from Thomasville, some from Cairo and some from Atlanta. Everyone was so overjoyed, you could tell by the smiles on their faces and the laughs they let out. As we traveled the bright and bumpy roads I watched all of the pretty palm trees, which is how I know we were getting close. Florida was full of palm trees and everyone that knows Florida know that everywhere in Florida is filled with palm trees. We traveled through so many different, beautiful cities. We traveled through Naples, West
Imagine exploring sandy, white beaches and indulging in mouthwatering seafood. If I could travel anywhere, the one place I would travel to is Florida. I want to go to Florida because of the fun attractions and the exquisite food. The first thing I would do in Florida is go to Clearwater Beach. Last summer I went to Florida, and went to the attractions Clearwater Beach offered. Everytime visit Florida, I go to the beach. One of my favorite parts about vacationing in Florida is the warm, sunny weather.
Please allow me to introduce myself, I am Weather Mistress, defender against Mother Nature. Growing up in Oklahoma I witnessed the many evil faces of Mother Nature. One eerie day in the month of April, as the skies started to churn, unrest was in the air. Shortly, a tornado rammed through my neighborhood, I was swept away from my family and thrown beyond the county line. Against the wishes of Mother Nature, I would survive! Furthermore, something inside of me changed. I was no longer “normal”. As time passed, I started to realize that when I wished for rain, it began to rain. When I reminisced about the warm summer sun, the temperature began to rise. As many Oklahoman’s know, when the spring months approach, it is time to prepare for
Last year, I got the amazing chance to travel to Florida with my sister. While it wasn’t the first time we’ve gone to Florida, because a lot of our family lives there, I had never gone there without my parents before, so it was a whole new, scary experience! We made so many memories while there, and I’ll always remember it for that. I had set one goal for this trip, though: to watch the 4th of July fireworks from the ocean.
The environment that you grow up in influences everything about your life, ranging from how you speak and act to the kinds of activities you engage yourself in. For me, growing up in Michigan, I have learned to enjoy being outside no matter the weather. What kinds of activities I was able to do all depended on the season, but each has its own unique and enjoyable activities to be appreciated.
"It's raining again...Great" I mumbled, pulling my hoodie tighter around me. I set out walking as far from the orphanage for the day as my feet would carry me. Another day of dealing with the pains in my stomach and the pain in my head, from lack of sleep maybe...but the loud crying coming from the other children was also to blame. I knew they were crying for the same reason I would be leaving in a few days, the hunger and beatings had gotten far worse at the orphanage, when the funding had started to go dry 9 years ago. I had learned when I was young, the best thing to do was to leave in the morning when the cry's would start and only come home when I knew my own would not add to them.
A shuttle bus was on its way with Chicago, Illinois as its final destination from Louisville, Kentucky. There were stops in various cities along the way; Bloomington, Indiana was one of them and was where I got on the shuttle. The shuttle was large: it had many compartments to store luggage on top of the seats as well as another compartment to store larger suitcases on the side of the vehicle. The bus was relatively crowded with most of its seats being occupied and had air conditioning blowing through its entirety. Although the bus was filled with passengers, the environment was mostly quiet because almost everyone on the bus were strangers. There were few conversations going on because people were listening to music, reading, or sleeping.
While walking by the shore I was amazed by the soft smooth sand beneath my feet, it seemed like all the worries I had throughout the year were finally erased. There was a rock facing the ocean that it thought was really cool, so I decided to settle there for a moment to appreciate the view, I closed my eyes for a second letting myself comforted by the sounds of the ocean, the sounds the waves were making against the rocks was impressive. Spending a few more minutes on the rock I decided to go back. Tying to help my parents for making breakfast, they sent me and my brother to get bread, and a few croissants at the bakery. My brother was driving while I was still wondering the landscape, I thought it was interesting how this island contained a mix between mountains, and beaches. At the table, conversations were spontaneous and positives, I forgot how fun breakfast could be when spending with family. That day we had has a plan to go to the beach, my mom could guess what me and my father had in mind. It was scuba diving and hunting with harpoons, but before we had to first buy the necessary equipment, and study the fishes we could hunt, since some were protected, and review the fishes that were edible. Finally done with preparation we headed to the beach, me and my dad waited that day for so long, being a big fan of hunting, I was quite impressed by the number of variety the Mediterranean Sea could provide, also what really shocked
