My wounds have always been healed with bandages, rubbing alcohol, and a little bit of medicine. Until, I reached the age of 12 I truly comprehended that not every pain you feel can be easily cured. Sometimes pain will only heal with time and patience. It was a hot summer Saturday afternoon when I arrived at my house from Walmart. I had just bought a CD of Selena Quintanilla and I was anxious to watch it. I went to my parents room with the cool fresh air and lied down on the king sized mattress. The house had a dark sensation with no noise just a quiet place like if no one was there. I approached my uncle who was battling cancer and gave him a warm hug and kiss on the cheek. His body was thin and fragile, his head shiny and round, himself in general looked different. How can someone feel so much pain and deal with it for 10 years? As I glanced at my uncle I reminisced all the memories I shared with him. Day turned into night and luckily my uncle continued to be with us. My family and I started telling each other stories of our childhood to calm the sadness. For a minute there the room had brightened up with our laughter’s and memories. Suddenly, at 2:15 a.m. my uncle left the earth. His mouth opened wide, his fingers and toes turned blue and his heart just stopped beating. My heart shattered as if it were a glass cup thrown from across the room. I cried a river wishing all this was just a dream, but sadly I was awake the entire time. I had a pain in myself that had no treatment. I cried every night that my pillows would end up soaked with all my tears. My eyes turned red and puffed up from the lack of sleep I had.
