Legalizing same sex marriage is making same sex cohabitation legal in the society. Gay couples or lesbian couples desire an official recognition from the nation. Currently impacting and changing society, having some groups with it and others against them. The LBGT social movement has been going on for a long time , yet many people have not come to support it. The gay and lesbian society acceptance will bring good society change, religion, and less suffering from the homosexual side and non-homosexual. The coexistence of opposite and conflicting feelings about abortion is centuries old. Disagreements between public policy, morality and individual behavior on this issue existed even at the time of Plato and Aristotle. In the past few decades abortion issue has been brought into sharper focus and has been vigorously debated. A number of factors are responsible for this but perhaps the major one has been that associated with the sexual revolution which accentuates freedom in all matters sexual and in spite of or even because of the tremendous and indiscriminate increase in the distribution of contraceptives. Gay Marriage For many years the topic of homosexual marriage, also known as gay marriage, has been a main concern throughout the world. Many people believe that marriage should be met between a man and a woman, while others simply believe that marriage should be between those who love whoever they want to love and be with. Throughout the years the role of gay marriage has been changing constantly, and will continue to change as years go on. About fifty years ago gay marriage was completely illegal and seemed to be unnatural and wrong. Since then, views have changed and people began to realize love is love and marriage between homosexuals should be legal to maintain equality within the states.
Even more interesting is to observe how the differences between men and women have evolved, especially over the past 30 years- since the sexual revolution. A generous amount of research has been done since then, and this research is continually updated as men and women evolve themselves. Our understanding of the innate gender differences as opposed to the acquired one is still growing, yet it still seems tainted by such misunderstanding. There is a lot of research regarding stereotypical views of men and women, and psychological testing has helped integrate and differentiate the documented "real" behavior. Even through the sexual revolution, there still exists gender-role stereotypes, although the stereotyping has decreased in recent years.
So, following the patents for the King’s Company and the Duke’s Company, Charles II issued a royal patent in 1662 proclaiming: Forasmuch as... women’s parts [in many plays] have been acted by men in the habits of women, at which some have taken offence,...we do...permit and give leave that all the women’s parts to be acted in either of the...two companies from this time to come may be performed by women. (Styan 90) This was enough of a change in the nation’s popular entertainment to require legislation, yet when the time came for the first female performances, their presence see... ... middle of paper ... ...But in reality the Restoration managed to take one step in the right direction towards equality for women, and two steps backwards. True control remained in the hands of the male playwrights, theatergoers and, of course, the monarch himself. Actresses were briefly able to feel the power they could have had if they had just been born a man -- and then it was taken from them.
