1. Did the employer discriminate in withdrawing the offer? Explain.

Yes, the employer discriminated against “David” in withdrawing the job offer. It was evident that “David” was over qualified for this position based upon the unanimous recommendation he received from the selection committee. The fact that the hiring managers language and decision immediately changed soon as “David” began to explain his future transitions could exemplify discrimination against the transgender community.

Gender stereotyping is something that is becoming more common in the workplace, especially for those in the transgender community. According to an online article titled, “Gender Stereotyping in the Workplace: Despite Lack of Federal Legislation, Plenty for Employers to Think About”, it is mentioned how the recognition of this issues has changed the way organizations deal with these hardships. To summarize, Glenn work for an organization for two consecutive years. Glenn loved his job and was extremely dedicated to his craft and his organization, however through out his personal live, Glenn was struggling with the acceptance of him portraying a man.
