1.1 Training and development
Training and Development is the learning process for helping employees to develop their personal and organizational skills, knowledge, and abilities in order to increase performance of the employees. The focus of all aspects of Human Resource Development is on developing the most superior workforce so that the organization and individual employees can acheive their goals in service to customers (Adiele Ndunuju, 2009).
Tesco corporation offers employees both on-the-job training and off-the-job training to increase employees performance. On-the-job training methods that Tesco corporation include are shadowing, coaching, mentoring, and job rotation or secondment. On-the-job-training (OJT) is one of the training methods for the employee at the place of work while he or she is doing the actual job during the training session. A professional trainer or an experienced employee will serves as the course instructor, and employs the principles of learning often supported by formal classroom training (BusinessDictionary, 2010).

3.3 Important to future researcher
Training and development is very important for the researchers on information seeking. Over the last few years, researchers have embraced new technologies and services that allow them to discover, locate, gain access to and create information resources on their desktops. However, there is evidence to suggest that research information skills have not kept pace with rapid change in this area. This raises important questions about how researchers acquire the appropriate skills in information handling, and the take-up of the training and development opportunities provided, therefore, training and development may helps the researcher to develop their skills in conducting their research (Sarah, 2009).
However, before a hired employee enrolls in a training program, they must go through orientation. Orientation provides new employees with the information they will need to succeed in a company (Woods 163). Orientation helps reduces the stress of beginning a new job, gives an overview of the business, and provides the employees with the expectations within the workplace. After orientation, the employee will begin training. Training is specialized to the position that the new employee is about to enter. Training should encompass the knowledge and skills that one should know to be able to complete the day-to-day tasks. For a training program to be successful, it should include the following
The use of the six principles of training by a 100m sprinter would greatly improve the athlete’s performance. This is because the progressive overload, specificity, reversibility, variety, training thresholds and warm up/cool down principles all greatly affect the performance of any athlete. The principles of training can be employed in order to improve all aspects of fitness, from flexibility to strength and aerobic endurance.
Netball uses a combination of each energy systems. It is a fast paced game, with lots of stop-starting, abrupt direction changes, and short, sharp movements. For this reason, netball uses the alactacid, ATP/PC system. This caters for one explosive muscular contraction using ATP lasting 1-2 seconds, and then 10-12 seconds of creatine phosphate (CP) after that. This might be for the centre pass, or any short movements. The Lactic acid system would then take over for 10-60 seconds of high intensity movement, which could be for running or dodging down the court. The body would now progress from the anaerobic system to the aerobic, to meet the demands of the activity. This will last for one hour of work, and is the dominant system used through the 15 minute, interval quarters. As the aerobic system is the predominant energy system used in netball games, the training program is targeted to improve and work this area, for maximal performance.
Managers need to inform employees about important dates, new products, and new opportunities to build a positive work environment that involves every member of the staff. Employee satisfaction is a critical segment of a strong work environment. Developing well-trained employees increases morale, job satisfaction, effectiveness, and innovation. When interacting with customers, a well-train employee will act under company policy and enhance the company’s image. Spending the time and money to ensure the staff is trained properly will give us a competitive advantage over our rivals.
The training and development of employees in William Hill is imperative for the performance or the company as they are in a competitive market. William Hill has to inform workers to be aware of surroundings in the area that they work. Training and Development Training Training is essential for both employees and employer if they want to be effective within the organisation and also for a company like William Hill to stay competitive within their market. The reason why training is important to employees is to enable them to achieve their maximum potential in their current position, it is needed also to develop them to create further opportunities within the organisation because employees are likely to be better educated and become multi-skilled. Training should be ongoing within William Hill in developing the employee’s skills within the business.

Supervisors are acting as trainers when implementing the formal orientation and OJT process. It is important that they thoroughly learn the content of the orientation process, as well as learn how to implement the process with new trainees. By implementing the Train-the-Trainer Model, Burgess is ensuring that each direct supervisor, receive the same training and have common KSA regarding the support and preparation of new employees. She increases the likelihood or consistency for the job site training offered each need employee. Additionally, with Train-the-Trainer model, direct supervisors can understand their roles in the process and it further increases their accountability regarding the success of new hires at their
I have focused my research for this literature review on the two topics which I will be looking at for my project; participant reaction to training and participant learning transfer to their personal (work/study) context.

They aren’t satisfied in their work, which will cause them to underperform, make mistakes, and not care about their work product. That costs the business in lost time and money.” (Benton, 2014). This paper will illustrate
