World War II was after the war that was supposed to be “the war to end all wars”, but World War II started just over a couple decades later. World War II started because of Germany and Japan’s greedy wants of more land, and they were willing to use force to acquire it, spiraling many countries of the world into war. The total aftermath of this war ended up being 60 million people or 2.5 percent of the world's population at the time. The people who said WWI was the war to end all wars could not have had nightmares about the horrifying events of WWII.
World War II was a massive conflict across continents that ultimately caused by one man, this man being Adolf Hitler. Hitler’s rise to power began when he joined the Nazi political party in 1919 (Weinberg, Gerhard L.). Hitler was a great organizer and speaker which lead to him quickly rising to becoming the leader of the Nazi political party. The Nazi party gained supporters by using the economic depression Germany was in, by telling them they would restore Germany back to the way it was before the depression. In 1923 the Nazi party tried to lead a revolt against the German government, but it failed and Hitler was arrested and sent to prison for five years (Weinberg ). Hitler was tried and and convicted of treason sending him to prison.
Hitler ended up only having to serve nine months of his prison sentence. While in prison for his revolt to take over the government Hitler “wrote” a book telling of his racist beliefs and political ideas for Germany's future and conquering the rest of Europe. Hitler did not really write this book he had another person write while he ranted. It was called Mein Kampf , but the original title was "Four and a Half Years of Struggle against Lies, Stupidi...

In World War II the Allied Forces had a "Europe First" campaign of invading the Atlantic countries before the Pacific. This is because Germany served as a bigger threat than Japan to the Allied Powers. In the United States, Franklin Delanor Roosevelt was the President. He kept America neutral at first, but later entered in after Pearl Harbor. George Patton was a popular U.S. Army leader who started tank warfare in America. Bernard Montgomery commanded the 8th Army which had victories in Europe including D-Day. At the near end of the war Omar Bradley toured through Germany notifying the rest of the world what had gone on there with all of the death camps during the Holocaust, which was where the murder of over 6 millioin Jewish people took place.
World War II, global military conflict that, in terms of lives lost and material destruction, was the most devastating war in human history. It began in 1939 as a European conflict between Germany and an Anglo-French coalition but eventually widened to include most of the nations of the world. It ended in 1945, leaving a new world order dominated by the United States and the USSR.
World War 2 was a very historic and dangerous moment in time that costed millions of lives. This global war began when Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany invaded Poland in 1939. Nazi Germany at the time had major goals that needed to be met, like having complete world order, and wiping out every single race other than a pure Aryan bloodline. In order to reach this goal, Nazi Germany tried to take over countries, and they also committed mass genocide to the Jewish people.
Adolph was sentenced to five long years in prison, yet he only stayed for nine months. In fact, the only reason that Hitler's time behind bars was shortened was for the book, Mein Kamph, that he wrote while in prison. Mein Kamph outlined Hitler's political ideas and thoughts about the "i...
The Two World Wars were two huge worldwide events during the 20th century. These wars or years of violence contain facts and information that will forever go down into U.S. History. The great causes, new technology, and bittersweet outcomes is the information that will be explained throughout this essay. Let's take a few steps back into the 20th century as we learn all about the two World Wars.
The 1940’s was a time of great conflict between the United States and Europe. This led to World War II, which began on June 14th, 1940 when German troops were sent to France to occupy Paris (Nash 500). Before the United States entered World War II many conflicts erupted throughout Europe such as the advancement of German troops into various countries (Nash 501-502). The main source of these conflicts was a man by the name of Adolf Hitler. Hitler was a power hungry man who had the drive to become a political leader (Nash 492). But, the ways by which he obtained leadership were repulsive. He struck fear into the eyes of those in which opposed his teaching and killed whoever stood in his way (Nash 493). Germany faced troubling times after World War I. Hitler looked at this as the perfect opportunity to rise to power. He turned a party that consisted of a small amount of workers into the National Socialist German Workers’ party, which later became known as the Nazi party. During the 1920s, Hitler performed many speeches in order to make the Nazi party better known. In his speeches he talked about eliminating the differences between the rich and poor in order to prevent divided social classes. This made his party strong, attractive, and it quickly gained many supporters (Nash 494). By August 1934, Hitler became the Dictator of Germany and began mass takeover of Europe and World War II began (Nash 495). It was at this point when he began mass takeover of Europe and World War II began (Nash 500). He sent Nazi troops to take over nearby land, which made neighboring countries nervous. One of these countries, Russia, made a non-aggression pact with Hitler as a way to try to protect their country. Even though H...
We learn about how Hitler became evil because his father didn't spend time with him. We learn that even Hitler tried to run away from being drafted into World War I. How he was injured twice in the war and while he was recovering from a mustard gas attack that left him temporarily blind Hitler learned that the Germans had surrendered and that Jewish soldiers were some of the leaders of the surrender. Also the surrender started Hitlers hatered towards Jews. Hitler was arrested for trying to start a genocide and was supposed to serve a five year prison sentence. Hitler only served nine months of the sentence because he had many followers from writing his book Mein Kampf. We learn about Hitler and his major acts of genocide when he killed about six million Jews and around eleven million undesirables in total. We learn that Hitler killed himself to keep from facing the truth and world he created and also from haing to face enemy forces.
Adolf Hitler was one of the cruelest rulers this world has ever known. During his reign Hitler caused enormous suffering for the Jews throughout Germany. Many Jewish families were torn apart by the cruelty of the Nazi party. This is one of the most tragic events in the world's history, is known as the Holocaust. Hitler was a very troubled man because he grew upon the hatred of Jews, he also ‘brainwashed’ many people into believing his idea’s, took away all of Jews rights and citizenship, formed the Nazi Parties , and even killed non-Jews.

Adolf Hitler was the leader of the Nazi Party who made a commanding impact on World War II. Hitler became a man of great power over a short period of time. Although he was not elected to be chancellor of Germany until 1933, there were events that occurred before that led to his greatness. He was born in Austria however he was the absolute ruler of Germany. In view of that fact that Hitler became chancellor, Hitler believed that he could do anything, which caused the Enabling Act. “…The Enabling Act, which suspended the constitution for four years and allowed Nazi laws to take effect without parliamentary approval”(Hunt & Martin, 850). Hitler was able to bolt for freedom with anything he had a desire for. The way that he led his Nazi-Germans was contrasting because no other leader, dictator, or commander was ever able to do what Hitler was able to. “At the same time, the media allowed authoritarian rulers and would-be dictators such as Benito Mussolini, Joseph Stalin, and Adolf Hitler to shape uniform political thought and to control citizens’ behavior far beyond what previous rulers had been able to do” (Hunt & Martin, 829). Adolf Hitler has made a substantial effect on society during his time, and still has today.
Wars are good business. They create an immediate demand for a wide variety of materials needed by the government in order to fight the war. They create work opportunities for people that might not ordinarily be considered part of the normal work force. And, while not necessarily good for the soldiers engaged in the fighting, wars are always good for the businesses that provide the materials used in a war. The Second World War was very good for business.

As you can see, Adolf Hitler is one of the most influential figures of the 20th century because he killed millions of Jews trying to perfect humanity through the Holocaust, his reign and military leadership of Germany lead to World War II, and his efforts of world domination influenced history forever. Used brutal methods to wipe out the jews. Used his military power to start WWI. His efforts lead to many changes that still influence our world today. Outcomes from the war still exist today such as the controversy in Israel, the creation of the United Nations, and the awareness towards protecting people’s rights. Hitler’s reign of power in Germany resulted in many horrific incidents; but we used his actions as a way to better our world by preventing people like him from coming into power.
World War II was one of the worst events in human history, but also one of the most influential. For those who dont know, World War II was started by the German Empire, and more specificaly, Adolf Hilter.
In about 1923 Adolf Hitler's attempt at an armed overthrow of local authorities in Munich, known as the Beer Hall Putsch, failed miserably. Hitler, were subsequently jailed and charged with high treason. However, Hitler used the courtroom at his public trial as a propaganda platform, ranting for hours against the Weimar government.
