Hello, in this essay I will be talking about my opinion on the film To Kill A Mockingbird. The purpose would be to express my opinion on this film and let others know how good or bad the move was. In my opinion, this film was good because of the story it had and the message it conveyed. I will support my opinion by expressing my favourite pieces of the story and the scenes, a little information I got online, a few of my favourite quotes in the film, and critic opinions. A few of my favourite parts of the movie were the problems and the ending. The main message of the story was to not judge a person by how they look or what the society says about them but instead how helpful and kind their true self was. This message was conveyed in 2 different problems. One was that Tom Robinson, a black man, was accused of raping and beating Mayella Ewell which he had not done, but was found guilty because of the lies of Mr. Ewell and his daughter Mayella. Another problem was that Arthur “Boo” Radley was not respected in the community because of the lies that were told about him. They said that he was a monstrous being with no heart, only hate but in reality he was a nice man who was only socially removed from his community. These basic problems had a purpose to show that all people no matter what the society says or what they look like should be treated fairly with respect. This proves that this film is based on equality and how everyone should be treated fairly, especially people like Tom Robinson and Arthur Radley. This is some evidence to why I believe this film is good. Some evidence I found online was that this film was given a fairly good rating of 8.7/10 and the comment of others were all positive. For example, someone wrote “I would ju... ... middle of paper ... ...s a good film because it tells us a good story and shows us how people were treated back then either because of their colour or what the society says about them, it was given a 8.7/10 online, it is filled with suspense/mystery and humor, and many film critics such as Owen Gleiberman and Kenneth Turan like this film because of it’s story. I would recommend this film to friends because in my opinion the story was well written and well filmed. The story had a true meaning that shows others to stop spreading rumors/gossiping because it can ruin the lives of other people like Arthur. The film also show us how racist the society used to be in the past. These are some qualities in a movie that make others want their friends to watch it. This is only a mere glimpse of the reasons of why I would recommend this to my friends but as the movie came to an end, so will this essay.
