INTRODUCTION It seems that there is never enough time in the day. But, since we all get the same 24 hours, why is it that some people achieve so much more with their time than others do? The answer lies in good time management. “Time management” refers to the way that you organize and plan how long you spend on specific activities. Time Wasters These days, we have these amazing technology everywhere around us such as IPads, smart phones and Laptops have all made it easier to plug in to work no matter the time or location! but it could eventually take up a lot of our valuable time. So how can we solve this problem? We have to identify and manage our time so that we can do all the work and enjoy the rest of the time. From my experience, I used to use my phone too much while I’m studying and waste my time. I realized that I’m neither enjoying my time nor studying. So, I decided to turn it off and keep it away from me then when I finish I can use it without remorse. Successfully I began to finish my tasks in less time. Learning to create time management system, you can complete the most important activities first in a given time. It is a three step process to know your available time. This is also called a time management budget. Finding out available time consists of recording, organizing and consolidating managing time efficiently. Which equals organizing, prioritizing and planning. Learning the strategies of organization is essentially the basics and the path to time management. The more organized you are the more efficient you will be using the 24 hours of each day. You can do this by making a “to-do” list and prioritizing it’s aspect of time and helps you keep in mind of the deadlines. It’s always a good thing to NOT procrastinate in time management. Poor time management can consist of several consequences. We all have the same 24hrs every day. However, we don’t spend it the same way. Some people use those hours to do important things, while some don’t know what to do with them. Sometime most of the day pass by, they forgot the most important thing they should have done during day. Charley Reese in his article “Learn to edit life” States “it is important to decide what you are not going to do, not going to read, not going to watch as it is to decide what you going to do, read and watch.” Because wasting your time on things that not significant, its giving people chance to use your time for their own gain. One way to limit their access to your time is to usefully spend them with purpose. According to Reese, the tree ways that is useful on managing your time are energy, focus, and making reasonable decisions.
What is Time Management? It refers to managing time effectively so that the right time is allocated to the right activity. It also means making the best use of time, as time is always limited and non-refundable. There are never enough hours in a day to do what you want.
A High schooler’s transition to college life can be difficult since time management becomes a major priority towards success. In other words, it is up to the student to finish assignments on time. As a previous high school student and now a college student, time management has become a constant concern of mine. My time management was significantly better in high school than college because I didn’t have hard assignments so I didn’t develop strategies for good time management.

Time has been described as the scariest of resources, and if left unmanaged, can be the cause for nothing to be managed (Khan, Khan, Ahmad, & Naseer, 2015). Efficiently managing time can improve a person’s all around attributes; productivity, organizational skills, and awareness. Since joining the military, time management has never been an issue for me. The one thing I loved about the military the most was that I always knew what I would be doing every minute of the day. Though my girlfriend hates it, I have carried this mindset over into my civilian life as well.

Managing my time has always been somewhat of a challenge to me, but my goal is to perfect using time management skills in my day to day life. As a recent college enrollee, I now fit into a group of people called the “nontraditional student”. In this paper, I will share why I have chosen this topic, the term “nontraditional student” will be defined and characteristics of them will be given. We will briefly look at challenges the nontraditional student may face, and we will explore how nontraditional students use time management to balance family, life, work and school. It will also be shared as to how I may use the time management skills listed in the article personally.
There are many different parts to time management, such as procrastination, strategy, organization, expectations and being prepared. All of them contribute equally in many ways. All of the things that we have spoken about in this paper are highly recommended. The best thing to do when it comes to time management is to set a strategy, become organized and do your best to avoid procrastination. This calls a need for people especially students in college to warm up to the fact that if they are unable to manage their time appropriately while in school it is apparent that as they transition into their working life they will demonstrate the same effects still while on the job.
Procrastination can be a major problem in both your career and your personal life because procrastination is the thief of time. When you keep putting off things, they keep piling up and getting in your way of achieving other things. Then you have missed opportunities, frenzied work hours, feel stressed, guilt and resentment; you find you are being overwhelmed easily because there is just so much to do.
