Tiger Woods: Philanthopist, Not just a golfer
Tiger woods has been a very successful professional golfer since 1996. Tiger has won many tournaments and in turn, a lot of money. Tiger Woods shows his phianthropic side by starting the Tiger Woods Foundation. The TGR, as it is refered to, is a means for Tiger to share in the benefits of his amazing life. The foundation supports many charities and events geared around the growth and development of children. The charity basis its philosophy on the premis that they will “help children succeed no matter what.”
Eldrick Tont Woods was born December 30, 1975. Tiger, his nick name, grew up in California. Tiger began playing golf as a toddler. Through his early childhood, Tiger played in many junior ameture events. Due to the successes of young Tiger, he was invited to appear on many televisioin shows exploiting his unusual abilities. Tiger went to college at Stanford University, where he received a full ride scholarship to play golf. Tigers success continued. He went on to win several matches as well as the Collegiate Championship. Tiger would also, go on to win three consecutive Amatuer Championships. …show more content…

Tiger has made many choices in his life that has led him to lose favor in the eye of the public. He has had several of those choices weighed in on by all of the world. Tiger, publically, had a breack down in his marriage and his “brand” took a huge hit. His poor decisions were put out there for all to see. It was revealed that he had a problem. He had several instances of infidelity. This led to question of his integrity. The TGR Foundation is somewhat shielded from this invasion of the “brand.” Because of the wholesome direction and the fact that there is a board that governs over the decisions, the foundation is a positive influence of the court of public appeal.
