A hero is a person admired for his or her actions or achievements. Every hero has left a legacy that has influenced many lives in a positive way. These individuals affected others by performing extraordinary deeds. Thurgood Marshall is admired for his impact on the Civil Rights Movement and tearing down the color barrier in the Supreme Court. Even as the grandson of a slave, Thurgood Marshall worked diligently to become the influential figure that he is today. Born in 1908, Thurgood Marshall lived in Baltimore Maryland most of his life. Thurgood Marshall attended Howard University Law School in Washington, D.C. Marshall joined the organization known as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) as a council member.
