Through Trials and Tears
What is America? A young girl in a distant land asked her mother this question in a whisper as they were hiding among produce and goods on the docks trying to find a way our of their county. A way out of their life of poverty, persecution and even death.
Looking for a new life in a new world, America. Some Americans don’t fell the meaning of this life, a life of freedom, a life of peace. To those in other countries like this family, it is something nearly impossible to reach, something only reached in a dream.
Many Americans don’t feel the depth of America; they see problems in the government, problems in their jobs, and problems in their lives. But for those outside our borders, it is a life of perfection. Two of the most important parts of our nation are the patriotism we share and the rights our forefathers have granted us. Words cannot express the love and appreciation I have for this land and the people and thoughts that make it truly divine.
Although there are fifty states with thousands of cities in America. It is all one nation. The United Stated of America reminds me of a great patchwork quilt, a quilt that has been sewn by the people who came to this land from all corners of the world, bringing with them many cultures, traditions, and many languages. All of those customs, ideas and people come together in a unique way that makes our country like no other. One of the most important parts of our nation is our patriotism. If we didn’t have patriotism in the early days of our country, then it most likely wouldn’t have survived.
The word patriotism comes from the term used for the people fighting against Great Britain in the Revolutionary War called patriots. These men and women risked their lives to give us what we have now, freedom. Patriotism continued throughout history. In World War II women showed patriotism with Rosie the Riveter. This symbolizes women’s role in keeping the United States strong during the war. Even years later our country proves strong and united after the devastating attacks of September eleventh. After these attacks our patriotism came through in full force. Everywhere I looked I could see flags and symbols of gratitude for our country. Historians have concluded that Ancient Rome was so powerful and successful because of the patriotism of their Citizens and the fall of Rome was partly because of the loss of that support and love for their country.
Dinesh D’Souza constructs an argument in his essay “What’s so great about America” that is convincing to the average reader. His essay was published 15 years ago and American culture has seen some changes since then. However, nothing that he mentions specifically in the essay has changed drastically. His extrinsic ethos is strong because he is from India and the audience may perceive that he can compare his knowledge of living elsewhere to an immigrant’s knowledge. This view of looking at America from an outsider’s point of view and how others view living in America is essential in D’Souza’s fundamental argument. He compares living in America to living in other less developed countries and appeals to the common citizen in his style, logic, and development of his essay. His arguments are sound and he convinces the average citizen that America is the best place to live, although his lack of facts and statistics to back up his statements could be seen as a weakness.
America, it has always had everything we need, except for when colonists flocked in the early 1600´s. Its 1609, you and a group of people have been on a boat for months. Now you aren't even sure if the America's exist. But once you lost every single drop of hope, you see it. A beautiful swampy land. This place makes you feel like you have a lot of opportunities, there’s a river, a lot of wildlife, and not that many Native’s around. It seems perfect, that’s what people that saw posters of Jamestown thought in England. Jamestown seemed, perfect, appeared perfect…
Dubbed as “The Greatest Country in the World” by god knows who, America is not as awesome and free as some may see. In doing a close reading of Heather Christle’s “Five Poems for America”, we can see how the author uses metaphors to portray a flawed American, specifically within its political system, religion, obsession with technology and basic human rights. Americans have been living with the oppression of these everyday issues, completely oblivious thus creating the America we infamously know today.
In the story, the mother’s belief in this sentiment gave her hope for her daughter to become a prodigy. Therefore, the weight of the dream is left on the first-generation. The belief of endless possibilities is set upon first-generation Americans and Americans alike. From the beginning of the story, the daughter states that “America was where all my mother’s hopes lay” (491). The mother has the be...

Since 1970, there has been a high alert for environmental problems. Some people may think that automobiles are the main cause of the non-recyclable resource. Even building and homes use half of the non-recyclable resource. Sustainability architecture is not the newest concept. The sustainable architecture is rarely ever used, reason behind is the both the architect and the client. It’s the job of architect to involve the client in the idea of the sustainable architecture. Due to the lack of solid resources most architects are unable to create or design a new sustainable architecture for a client. Even though options are given to the client about the sustainable architecture, however the client turns down the offer because they may not want to the pay the additional costs to construct. At some point the client has to be educated about design issues “sleek doesn’t mean better” and “a glass wall is not better than a concrete wall”. Time will come when people will have to be concerned about the internal architecture than the exterior architecture. Architects must stop withdrawing information from the catalogue and use their own design ability to reshape the way architecture runs. Sustainability architecture not only is preferable for the environment but it also gives the opportunity for the architect to really push the design beyond its limit. Ball-Eastaway House even if its built in the forest does it hold the meaning of sustainable architecture.
In recent development, sustainability has become an integral concern in the performance of architectural principles and technology, in which conscious approaches to energy and ecological conservation involves strategies during the design, construction, and operation of buildings. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the Building Sector is the largest contributor to most of the energy consumed: in the United States by itself, buildings consume 47.6% of all energy produced and is responsible for 44.6% of CO2 emissions in 2010 (“Problem…” 1). In terms of sustainability, initial decisions in the design process can significantly help deliver results. Evaluations and explorations through the impact of materials, such as concrete, wood, bricks, masonry, and steel, can help improve reductions in energy through its applicability to a building. While wood and steel are simply identified for their strength, durability, and functionality in structures, accentuating these materials’ embodied energies and recyclability offer a more comprehensive understanding of their overall impact in sustainability — and ultimately reveal how both have advantages and disadvantages depending on the context.
...satellites have been used or are in use. These are useful because they can see through clouds or camouflage. However, they require more analysis and processing.
Architecture today is more focusing on aesthetic instead of the surrounding environment. In the result, the importance of the relationship between architecture and environment have been neglected and forgotten.
As the world’s population and ecological challenges grow in the 21st century, it is of paramount importance that new cities, towns and communities strive for “sustainability” - economically, environmentally and socially - without reducing the capacity of future generations to have their needs met.
Satellite is basically working by the principle of calculus and analytical geometry it take the signals from sourse from one part of the world and send it to the defferent part of the world with in second etc.
Sustainable cities, also referred to as eco-cities, are metropolises that are designed with consideration of environmental impact, inhabited by people dedicated to minimal amount of energy required such as food and water, also the minimum outputs of waste products such as heat, air pollution, carbon dioxide, methane, and water pollution. Throughout the various planning decisions that is used to design cities, it eventually leads to the high tendency of urban sprawl. Urban sprawl describes the how the human population has expanded from central urban areas into communities which are low-density, mono-functional and often heavily car-dependant. Urban sprawl is highly detested by suburban citizens, but it is far more effective for
Sustainable architecture is a form of design that pursues to regulate the negative impact of buildings on the environment. The objective is achieved when moderation and efficiency are applied when using energy, materials and development space. Today, the buildings have been established as the biggest end user of energy and contractor of greenhouse gases. It has now become a worldwide issue since green gases have a negative impact on the environment.
Overlooking satellite into space has different jobs. Some watch for harmful radiation coming from the sun. Explore asteroids and comets, the history of the origins of stars and other planets. Number of satellites orbiting near or fly to another planet. Spacecraft may find evidence of water on Mars or capture near Saturn’s ring.
