Even though technology may seem like a hassle for the older generations, it has greatly impacted the world because most families are dependent on technology as a part of their daily lives. Living in a modern society, technology has changed the world in an optimistic way, making many lives easier, safer, and better. Over the years, technology has grown like a young child; it started off crawling, then it learned to walk, and finally matured enough to run at a speed at which it is impossible to catch up to. Technology is currently in the elusive stage. To some extent, technology is inseparable from our lives. Year after year, new technology such as the harvester, chisel, or tractor helps farmers yield more crops. Instead of gathering mature crops manually, the industrial revolution allowed farmers to be able to use machines to gather crops. Due to the invention of these new machines, farm workers were not needed, so they moved to the cities to find other types of work. Another use of technology in agriculture is pesticides, which helps crops grow on farms without the interference of insects which would greatly decrease the yield of crops. An irrigation system allows farms to be properly irrigated without human effort. The greatest use of technology in agriculture is genetic engineering, which increases the amount of crops per year by genetically altering the crops.
