There are three types of people in this world, snare drums, bass drums, and quad toms. These groups are characterized by how the different people act. For the most part, everyone in the West High Drumline fits into their respective instrumental roles. The West High Drumline has been beneficial to me as it has brought me out of my shell. Not only are they kind, intelligent, and skillful; but they are also helpful, supportive, and caring. Most people in the world can be interpreted as exemplifying the personality of either snare drums, bass drums, of quad toms. The first classification of personality is the snare drum. As previously stated, people who are like snare drums are passionate, cocky, and funny. The two people who best display
Personality is defined as the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual's distinctive character. Our personality has a huge influence on our enduring, distinctive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors which influence how we adapt to our world. It’s how we define ourselves, and how others view you. Many psychologists have faced the challenge of trying to determine where our personality is derived from. Four main theories have been established on personality including psychodynamic, humanistic, trait, and social-cognitive. Using these theories, you can often better understand why people are the way that they are, such as Bill Cosby.
In today’s culture psychologist, sociologist, and scientist investigate several types of personalities. Personality is the pattern of behavior, though process, emotions, and reactions to the people that surround us on daily basis. Several test have been developed for testing personalities. Some test can be simple and short while others lengthy and complicated. Scholars demonstrated knowledge about personalities looking back many thousands of years. The Greeks published a well documented history in profiling people according to personality traits. Two interesting character personalities are conformist type personality and manipulative type personality.
Upon graduating high school, Devon Miles, a snare drum prodigy, attends Atlanta A&T University where he soon learns the concept of “One band, one sound” through his mistakes that affect the whole band. This film includes the scene where Sean (Devon’s percussion leader) states “ You’re the best Devon, but when you on the field nobody hears you. They hear the band.” in order to emphasize that the sound of the band is dependant on not just one person but every single one of its members. This film was intended for the African American minority and teenagers, especially those who are affiliated with music or
Personality wise, most people would say I’m annoying, loud, and rude. Strangers would describe me as quiet and shy.
The text defines personality as “an individual’s unique constellation of consistent behavioral traits.” (Weiten, W., Dunn, D., & Hammer, E. Y., p. 31) Personality is indeed unique. Every intelligent species has a personality and, much like snowflakes, no two personalities are completely alike. However, we have found ways to breakdown personalities into certain categories with The Five-Factor Model of Personality. With this model, Robert McCrae and Paul Costa found a simple way to categorize personalities through descriptions of certain behaviors such as extraversion, neuroticism, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. (Weiten, W., Dunn, D., & Hammer, E. Y., p. 32) Individuals fall into each category to some degree. For example, extraversion is the broad way of describing personality traits such as outgoing, sociable, and friendly. Everyone has these extravert traits, but for some this trait is more prevalent than it is for others.

A musician’s distinct personality type can often be characterized by their instrument choice and from the ensemble that they play in. This study observed the differences in the personality types of High School Band, Orchestra, and Choir members. The Meyer-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) was given to 143 Band members, 99 Orchestra members, and 107 Choir members. In this study, Orchestra refers to a strings only ensemble and Band refers to brass and woodwinds; Percussionists aren’t mentioned in the article.
As you live your life, and time passes. As society changes, and opportunities come and go. One thing never changes… A drummer’s passion for music. Coming from a musically gifted family obviously fueled my passion for drumming. The first step was to join the band, and being in band was what gave me a true appreciation for music. The passion for drums came first and then an appreciation for all the hard work musicians do. Unfortunately the marching band, in high school, was not affordable for me. So I wondered how i could continue my drumming career, and eventually came to a decision. I decided to take up playing a full drum-set, and it was the best choice of my life. Playing the full set, has given so many more opportunities than the band ever
I believe our personalities make up who we are and how others perceive us at times. Personalities are our own unique qualities, that we possess as individuals. In writing this short paper, I have found that psychologists use assessments to define an individual’s personality to determine their qualities and what makes them different from other individuals. Through the Big Five Personality test, I found it difficult to define and understand an individual personality
In an article written by Klaus and Ursula Scherer (1981), it was evident that all human beings tend to categorize others on the basis of behavior including sociable versus withdrawn, stable versus neurotic, cautious versus reckless and so forth. They further identify that this is a naturally occurring phenomena for any layman, even though they may not use the word personality as it is used in psychology. Psychologists on the other hand have identified behavior constructs that underlie perception and showed that people are likely to classify people in terms of their speech behavior. This is justified by the fact that personality mostly manifests itself to behavior which is subject to little external restrictions. In the case of verbal aspects for example, certain aspects are viewed to have limit...

My personality type is Extroverted, intuitive, feeling, perceptive or ENFP. According to the description in the exercise, ENFP's are warm, enthusiastic and live their outer life more with intuition and their inner more with feeling. This assessment is consistent with the results that I received in part I of the exercise. I am an extroverted person who enjoys being around and working with people.
Personality is the unique characteristic patterns of thinking, feelings and behaviours of a person. Each person has different personality which distinguishes a person from another. Personality is a big thing of what makes us human. It makes us all different from one another and it makes the world exciting. Every day we run into people who have similar personalities to us and people who have completely opposite personalities then we do. I personally believe that my personality is calm and collective but we will see how it stacks up against the three tests that are required to take and other people’s perception of my personality.
