Theodor Seuss Geisel or better known as Dr. Seuss is a very popular children’s book author. He is one of my top favorite authors of children books. Dr. Seuss got many of his crazy ideas for his books from his hometown . His hometown was Springfield, Massachusetts. His mother was his inspiration for making rhymes. One reason I really think he’s an extraordinary author is he incorporated some of the world’s great issues and put in them in a children’s story book. For example in one of his famous books the “Lorax” recognizes the take on environmentalism and how humans are destroying nature. He was a genius in story telling.
Theodor Geisel was born on March 2, 1904. His father and mothers name was Henritta and Theodor Geisel. He had two sisters Henritta who died at the age of two and his older sister Margareta .From the time he was young till he grew old and famous his interest has always been words and drawings.. He loved books so much that as a child his mother bribed him with books. Seuss had from getting turned down by 28 publishers to having a C average GPA in college, and even getting criticized for some of his books, he managed to become one of the most well known children’s book authors. He has made over 40 children’s book and sold more than 200 million copies. Every year on his birthday many school celebrate by reading his books and sometimes-even dressing up as some of the characters in his stories. The very last book he made in 1990 is still on the list for bestsellers. All of his books have been translated in 20 different languages so all of the world can read his wonderful books. If you’ve never read any of his books I recommend you start now.
