What would you do if your parents decided to get rid of you, maybe because you’re not good enough for them or made a big mistake. What if your parents storked you and just left you there for someone else to find? Authors puts subliminal messages into their writing to make the reader indulge into a deeper meaning. Most people read for a good story, but the best readers read to look for the theme, or the true meaning behind the story. In Neal Shusterman’s book Unwind there were many themes. In some chapters you could even find two or three. Along with themes, I also found a many different aspects to the plot that added internal and external conflicts. In chapter 1 there is an internal conflict of Connor feeling betrayed after his parents signed his unwind form (pages 3-10). An major external conflict involves Risa. She is planned to be unwound because there are too many children in the StaHo and is deemed unworthy of life because she is not talented enough (22-24). Along with external and internal conflict, there is also conflict with society. Lev is raised to be a Tithe, but his pastor changes his mind, which cause Lev to be unsure about what is right (27-34). …show more content…
