At the end of the book everyone looks at him as a weak figure because he did so much to redeem himself, yet he was so supposed to be such a legendary person. Another huge example of this is Amir and Hassan’s relationship it started as childhood best friends that could never leave each other in years no matter what. And the friendship basically is totally destroyed and stops happening when Amir sees Hassan get raped and he is so upset with this that he can 't think of anything else.
