The Outsiders is a great novel for the topic emotions. Throughout the novel there are many signs of different emotions; Such as sad, happy, exciting,depressed,and nervous. There are many to choose from but, there are three major examples. The first major emotion was the happiest. There were several details in the book that expressed the happiest moments. One of the happiest moments was when Johnny and Ponyboy helped the children get out of the burning church. They had just got back from eating at Dairy Queen with Dally. As they were on their way home they drove passed the church where they were staying. When they saw that the church was on fire they jumped out out of the car and ran up to the church. There are several exciting moments in the novel also. The greasers were a group of teens that like to fight and pumped up their would have been a lot of excitement throughout them all. There were a lot of times when the greasers were excited. One major accomplishment to the greasers were when they beat the socs at the rumble. This was definitely one of the most exciting moments to the greasers. The greasers were upset about everything that was happening in their lives. Such as Johnny being in the hospital and ponyboy sick from the fire. When they won the fight it brightened their mood. This was definitely the most exciting moment in The …show more content…

In the novel there were times when everyone was in this predicament at one time or another. One of the saddest moments for the greasers i would say was when Johnny had got burned and broke his back the fire at the church. Johnny was not doing well the doctors told him it was a matter of life or death. They said if he did live he would most likely not be able to walk again. Johnny was in critical condition they did not know if he would make it. Later Johnny did end up passing away. The greasers were shocked they were so sad. Johnny was like their little brother that had always followed them everywhere. Another sad event that took place in the novel was when Dally robbed the store and was shot by the police. Dally believed that he was the cause of Johnny's death and he could not take that feeling so he thought he would be better off
