In his eyes, St. Augustine believes that Genesis should be read and taken not literally but rather spiritually because time and creation only existed due to the coexistence of humanity, whereas God himself in all of his might and glory is forever eternal. St. Augustine believes that God did not create the heavens and the earth in a literal sense because nothing could exist before the act of creation. As written in the Bible, God created the universe with a "word", but St. Augustine asks, “by your word you made [the creation]...but how did you speak?" (St. Augustine, p227). The word with which God spoke to create everything meant that there already has been a time before God created it.
The same God created both, or all types of life. One may debate the creationist understanding of Genesis, but not without surrendering the plain sense of other Scriptures as well, including those which reveal the gospel to us! Close this study with a reading of PSALM 139. Don 't skip over verses 19-22, but discuss how we can understand these words in the light of this study (for example), and still remember to love our enemies as Christ commands us. Pray for steadfastness in the understanding and confession of the truth of God 's Word.
The Holy Scriptures can be trusted because they were written by prophets and apostles inspired by the Holy Spirit. We are not to be swayed by people who are guided by unbiblical ideas because judgment is guaranteed for all those who oppose the truths written in God’s Word. We should remember to exercise good judgment by the Holy Spirit to detect false teachings and alluring promises of the ungodly. If anything God’s promises of judgment should prompt us to encourage others to repent and believe in Christ. Does 2 Peter 1: 20 refer to the origination of prophecy or to its interpretation?
Jesus said, “Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men” (Mark 7:8). As Christians, we need to put the Bible as the absolute source of authority, as it is God’s Word. 2 Timothy 3:16 states: “All Scripture is inspired by God.” If all Scripture is inspired by God, then everything in it is absolute truth, including creation. If we mix Scripture with evolution, then the Bible is not authoritative. Conclusion In conclusion, the Bible tells us that creation happened in six literal, twenty-four hour days, and God rested on the seventh.
It is seen the bible that God is sovereign no one can question Him. We may not understand many things, but we must follow His way of doing things, not just go with emotions like Inclusivists. The bible says that Jesus is the way the truth and the life. In my opinion, If that is what it says, then it is the truth, and he should embrace that truth as it is. Works Cited Nash, Ronald.
God’s message is clear, we are to take the Bible seriously and not just a piece of literature but also factual knowledge of how we began. We see how God worked to make this world and how we have grown to ruin this creation. We forgot too often how amazing the world truly is and take this all for granted. By reading Genesis we can truly learn how flawed we can be. We all assume the world will be here as we know it, but this is just something we tell ourselves, a fabrication so we do not have to face life biggest questions.
Evolution of Darwin and christianity These days , a number of the view that the theory of evolution as formulated by Charles Darwin is not against religion . There also was not convinced that the theory of evolution but still also contribute in teaching and redistribute it . This would not have happened if they really understand the theory. This is due to the inability to understand the dogma of Darwinism , including the views of the most dangerous of these theories are indoctrinated to the society . Therefore , for those who believe in the existence of God as the sole creator of living beings , but at the same time the view that " God created a variety of living things through evolution , " let relearn basic dogma of the theory.
Otherwise, you also will be cut off (Romans 11:22)” My approach while reading Genesis 1-3 is literal. God‘s word is written not of confusion it mean what it says “For God in not the author or confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints (1 Corinthians 14:33)” The book of genesis advocates that God created o... ... middle of paper ... ...rove the mature creation of Adam. Miracles needs to be taken into account literally otherwise we devalue the miracle and the events that led up its occurrence. Death is an argument as well evolution describes it as necessary and biblically death is the consequences of sin and direct development of death to include death of man and animals. God made us for a purpose, it is our goal to determine what that purpose is and try to obtain it to the fullest.
We also believe in God because we accept all God’s revelations to us about himself and his will for humankind. In our contemporary culture, most people has misconception that for one to recognize the existence of God is always a matter of faith, but it does not require faith for one to recognize the existence of God. One is able to know that God exist by deduction from evidence and principles observable in nature(Thomas P. Rausch, SJ, I Believe in God,Publication Year: 2008, pp3-33, My own interpretation). Many thinkers from classical to modern times have certify the existence of God as a matter of reason( Aristotle, Plato, etc.) One of the thinkers who held that man knows God exist though reason was Blaise Pascal.
We should not have to rely on individuals using Charles Darwin’s evolutionary theory to help explain the origin of life apart from God. God creation set us apart. After all, God stated His creation was made “very good”.
