The first major impact Milton had when he made chocolate affordable to all people and not just the higher class. Also, an entire town was created which made and helped our economy become better. Starting his town may have been one impact made in the United States but during the Great Depression he did even more. He made more construction projects so he could hire more people and create jobs. At the end of the great depression era Milton was proud to say that he hadn’t let go any of his workers. (The Hershey Corporation, 2014). Hundreds of kids lives were impacted at the time Milton were alive because he gave them an education and a home which was the school he founded. When Kitty died he gave his life savings, of sixty million dollars, to his school. This let the his school expand and become bigger. During World War two, toward the end of his life, Milton created a candy bar for soldiers to eat that wouldn’t melt and had nutritional value in them.
