The iPod
Perhaps it has escaped your notice, but it seems that recently everyone is jumping on the iPod bandwagon. Those thin white cords seems to dangle from everyone’s ears, and the tell-tale rectangular bulge is seen in every other back pocket. Well, not only did I notice the bandwagon passing me by daily in the hallways, but I decided to jump on the iPod bandwagon myself. And now the question is, have YOU jumped on the iPod bandwagon???
The iPod leads the contemporary revolution in portable digital music, and has come to be one of Apple’s hottest selling item. Weighing in at just 5.6 ounces and not much larger than your standard cigarette pack, the iPod is the answer to taking your tunes with you wherever you want to go. That is if you can afford the $299 that you’ll be set back for a 20GB model, or the $399 you’ll dish out for 40GB of iPod magic. But if you just can’t squeeze out that kind of cash, you could always settle for the iPod Mini, iPod’s little sister, that sells for $249, and still holds 1,000 songs - that’s enough to get you through a long weekend, or better ye...
“Sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. The sheep go through life refusing to see evil. The wolves are the evil preying on the sheep. But the sheepdogs? They protect the sheep. They fight the evil”(Chris Kyle).Heroism-looking evil in the eye, not running away, and shutting him down in his path. Many Cubans deserve to live a healthier life, and having the embargo against them will affect their lifestyle. Cuba should demonstrate a willing to negotiate with the United States by softening some of it’s laws. From my personal experiences, the Cuba embargo has affected the country’s progress greatly because of it’s tight importing laws against the United States. A powerful economic powerhouse like the United states would greatly improve the political and economic progress of Cuba by providing more resources and pressuring the Cuban Communist Party to change it’s laws.
“There is a certain enthusiasm in life, that makes human nature rise above itself, in acts of heroism.” says founding father of the United States, Alexander Hamilton. Anyone can be a hero, but that someone has to have had stepped up and done something for the greater good. Also, everyone has the potential to be hero in them, but there are many qualities that heroes all have and are recognized for. Qualities that are necessary to reach the goal of being a hero. And so, just making good choices does not make heros, there is more to heroism. A hero is someone who is persistent during hard times and shows leadership when called out unexpectedly, but is not selfish when asked to put others before themselves.
In today's high-pace society, technology is a way of life, which is why we humans tend to want the next best product out there. However, when it comes to mp3 players there is a vast selection, but the one that really stands out is the Ipod by Apple. This is because it is light weight and it can hold a large amount of songs depending on how big the storage is, and on Apple's latest model there is video capability. So not only does it have music but you could watch videos too. What would be even better is if there would be a digital camera on it as well, then your problems of carrying both the mp3 player and digital camera would be over. This is because this new product called the Ipod Camera/ Video would already have the camera inside of it as well as the music and video capability. This product would be directed towards people between the ages of 15-40, because people that are fifteen years old are just entering into the high-technology driven world, and people that are forty years of age are still in that time of their lives that they still make use of those little gadgets. In other words, this new product would make peoples lives easier by having both the digital camera, video and mp3 player all-in-one.
It’s difficult to remember a time without iTunes. To many people, especially to the younger generation, iTunes has always been a part of people’s lives. When it launched on April 28, 2003, iTunes was set to forever change the world of music and technology (Griggs & Leopold). When it first started, songs were available for instant download for only ninety-nine cents and albums for less than ten dollars. ITunes changed the way music was distributed and marketed. With the release of iTunes, music consumers could now download music digitally with the click of a button. Consumers no longer had to leave the comfort of their home to buy or listen to a song or an album. Before iTunes and digital music, consumers had to buy a complete album or record even if they only liked one of the songs on it. ITunes revolutionized music by marketing the single. ITunes surely made an impact on the music world, not only by making songs and albums more accessible and affordable to consumers, but by changing listeners as a whole, both socially and culturally.
Today, Apple keeps coming out on top with their exceptional and award winning items and administrations. Apple is additionally credited with driving the advanced media upheaval with their iPod compact music and feature players and iTunes online media store, making the first supportable music-downloading plan of action ever. Introduction of the iPod: The iPod was introduced into the market just in time for Christmas, 2001. The first iPod was priced at $399. Apple relied on a hard disk for storage instead of flash memory or interchangeable CD-Roms and focused on promoting the uniqueness of the small size, power, and ease of use of the device. This first iPod had a 5 GB storage capacity—which is enough to hold over 1,000 songs—and it worked only on Macs, using iTunes as a music organization and CD-to-iPod conversion tool. iTunes, digital jukebox software that let Mac users import songs from CDs by converting audio files to the MP3 format and storing them on the computer’s hard drive, was introduced in January of 2001. Along with the iPod, Apple announced an enhanced version of iTunes that included a 10-band equalizer with presets, as well as a cross fading feature for smoother transitions from one song to another. An Auto Sync capability facilitated the downloading of music from a Mac to the new portable media device. Once the music was downloaded, Apple promised 10 hours of continuous play from the iPod’s rechargeable lithium battery. The device supported MP3, with bit rates of up to 320kbits/s, as well as AIFF and WAV file formats. Its amplifier could deliver 20-20,000-Hz frequency response. Apple sold 125,000 iPods by the end of December 2001.
With this deal, Cuba was able to double its import capacity and to carry out multibillion-dollar investments. In 2008, three hurricanes hit cuba and battered the economic situation. It was so bad at the time that many believed that the system could not recover. Tourism figures prominently in the Cuban Government's plans for development, and a top official casts it as at the "heart of the economy." Havana devotes significant resources to building new tourist facilities and renovating historic structures for use in the tourism sector. Roughly, 1.7 million tourists visited Cuba in 2001, generating about $1.85 billion in gross revenues; by 2010 that number was 2.53 million, and had generated $2.4 billion (Cuba's Economy). The currency of Cuba is the Cuban Peso (CUP), and is broken down 100 centavos (cents). The government introduced the Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC) to replace foreign currency as many family members were sending money back to Cuba. Cuba implemented so that they could tax 10% of every CUC. The CUC cannot be used outside of Cuba because is in place to replace all currencies. US Dollars were widely accepted throughout the island, but since 8 November 2004 US Dollars are no longer accepted, and a 10% commission is charged to exchange them (Cuba's
USA companies will be allowed to compete in Cuba market. In addition, international companies will be free to operate in Cuba without being excluded in the USA market. Finally, Cubin population will enjoy the benefit of international trade and Cuban immigrants in the USA will be allowed to visit and assist financially their family’s members and to improve their social life.
“Promoters of free trade argue that the best way for countries like Cuba to improve their lot is to lower their barriers to free trade and investment and to implement economic policies based on free market economics (Hill, & Hult, 2015).” Another obstacle that hinders Cuba from thriving is the amount of debts it owes to other nations. In 2016, Cuba paid $5.2 billion in foreign debts. Even with the increase in tourist, Cuba still struggles to thrive and still finds it’s nation in a red zone. The U.S has also maintained a trade sanction against Cuba in hopes that the economic hardship will lead to the downfall of the Communist government. This tactic has not helps much because other countries like Canada and Germany has stepped in and trades with Cuba. While every nation can’t be governed by the rules that govern us in the United States, it is also important that a system is
The first, and the most important, is the Cuba government has the courage to reform and change themselves, which most governments do not have. During Fidel Castro’s government, things and regulations

Charles Babbage was born at Walworth, Surrey England in December 26,1791. He achieved many great feats and belonged to many very distinguished groups before he died in October 18, 1871. Many people consider him to be the grandfather of computer science due to his great works with his Difference Engine (1821), which printed tables of polynomials, and his Analytical Engine (1856), which was intended as a general symbol manipulator. These inventions were far more complex than the work of any of his fellow inventors. Although there is no evidence that the computers of today are direct descendants of his work. He grew up with a passion for how mechanical objects worked. He also was an excellent mathematician. This was discovered at an early age when he employed a tutor only to find out he knew more about math than the tutor did. He was home schooled for a good many years before entering Cambridge University in 1810 an institution where he would later hold the position of Lucasian chair of mathematics from 1828 to 1839. His home schooling was in direct result of poor health in his youth. He was involved in many different fields of science. He was the first person to be presented the Gold Medal award given by the Astronomical Society. He was also a key figure in the founding of the Astronomical Society in 1820, the British Association for the Advancement of Science in 1831 and the Statistical Society of London in 1834. He is also the author of the very influential book On the Economy of Machinery and Manufactures. He also wrote a series of papers on many different topics such as optics and cryptology. Babbage excelled in many categories but being a politician wasn’t one of them. As a result he would not be able to persuade the government in England to give him a grant on working on the analytical engine. In Babbages early years he was quite social an pleasant to have around. In fact he was notorious for excellent dinner parties where many famous and prominent people would be in attendance. Although over the years and believed by some as a result from the death of his daughter Shelley, who drowned near La Spezia in July of 1822 and 5 years later the death of his 35-year-old wife Georgiana in August 1827 he became a very bitter old man.
