In the Yellow Wallpaper written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, it follows the descent of a woman going mad. It shows her going mad because of isolation. She is trapped in a room twenty hours a day, seven days a week.
In the Yellow Wallpaper, the husband/doctor John does not let his wife talk to anyone because he thinks that she is already mentally unstable. Believing someone is unstable is going to make you start seeing them in a different light. Many think that people with a mental problem are more fragile. She is trapped in a room twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. He took them to live in a different house by the beach so his wife could get cure. But nothing was wrong with her from the start so moving to the house was a waste of time.
