In Dante Aligheri's novel, "Dante's Inferno", Dante saw that the three worst human sinners in all of history were Judas Iscariot, Brutus, and Cassius. The first betrayed Jesus, the second and third both betrayed and directly murdered Julius Caesar. These sinners are the worst of the worst and are in Dis with. So many evil people have walked this earth. The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines “evil” as being “morally reprehensible: sinful, wicked; arising from actual or imputed bad character or conduct”. In my opinion, the most evil people to have ever walked this earth would be Vlad Dracula, Adolf Hitler, and Ivan the Terrible.
The City of Dis is within the larger region of Hell. The First Ring of the Seventh Circle of Hell is where people who were violent against others spend eternity in boiling blood. The Second Ring of the Seventh Circle of Hell is where people who committed suicide. These people will spend eternity in the form of trees. In the Third Ring of the Seventh Circle of Hell is where people are who were violent towards nature. Dis is where you will find Judas Iscariot, Brutus, and Cassius. These were the people Dante found to be the greatest human sinners. I believe that Vlad Dracula, Adolf Hitler, and Ivan the Terrible also belong here as well because of their violent sins against others.

Adolf Hitler wanted to annihilate all of the Jews because he believed they caused Germany to lose the war. Ivan the Terrible were the most evil people to have walked this earth. Ivan the Terrible killed his own son and daughter-in-law. Ivan enjoyed seeing people’s blood and suffering from being tortured. He would often ordered these killing to be done in front of him for his own enjoyment. Nothing can justify what Vlad Dracula, Adolf Hitler, and Ivan the Terrible did. Brutus, Cassius and Judas Iscariot deserved to be in Dis with Lucifer because of their sins. I believe could have made this list as well. I believe, Vlad Dracula, Adolf Hitler, and Ivan the Terrible deserved their places in Dis.

Throughout dark fiction, authors utilise different elements as a tool to defeating the antagonist. the story Dracula uses completely different approaches in taking down the mighty Dracula. In the novel Dracula, Bram Stoker effectively employs the different elements that are used to defeat Dracula. Stoker effectively demonstrates the elements that are used to destroy Dracula through act of Religion, the aspect of Science and the setting.
During his rule, Dracula established five monasteries and was always followed by priests and monks as he thought that religious charity would erase sin. Despite being known for his great religious virtues and being a war hero in all of Romania for defending his empire from the Ottoman Empire, Dracula had a thirst for blood. Dracula’s good deeds were overshadowed by his methods of torture as he became known as “Vlad the Impaler”. Dracula’s choice of punishment for his enemies was to impale them and leave them to slowly die a painful death. This did not sit well with the Vatican as they condemned his actions of cruelty. It was also reported that on a separate occasion of impaling his enemies, Dracula was eating his dinner and dunked a piece of bread in blood which some say added to the myth of him being a vampire. The late nineteenth century Irish novelist, Bram Stoker is most famous for creating Dracula, one of the most popular and well-known vampire stories ever written. Dracula is a gothic, “horror novel about a vampire named Count Dracula who is looking to move from his native country of Transylvania to England” (Shmoop Editorial Team). Unbeknownst of Dracula’s plans, Jonathan Harker, a young English lawyer, traveled to Castle Dracula to help the count with his plans and talk to him about all his options. At first Jonathan was surprised by the Count’s knowledge, politeness, and overall hospitality. However, the longer Jonathan remained in the castle the more uneasy and suspicious he became as he began to realize just how strange and different Dracula was. As the story unfolded, Jonathan realized he is not just a guest, but a prisoner as well. The horror in the novel not only focuses on the “vampiric nature” (Soyokaze), but also on the fear and threat of female sexual expression and aggression in such a conservative Victorian society.
In Bram Stoker's "Dracula", Dracula is portrayed as a monster made evident by his gruesome actions. An analysis of Dracula shows that: shows his evil nature in his planning, brutally killing Lucy Westrenstra causing a violent response from Dr. Seward and others, and how his evil ways lead to his downfall. To characterize Dracula in one way, he is a ruthless, cunning monster who uses tricks, torture, and wits to manipulate people to his will. Bram Stoker took the legend of Vlad Tepes and used it as an idea for Dracula. He was the ruler of an old country called Wallachia. He is most famous for impaling his enemies on sticks around his castle. He taught himself how to miss vital organs in the body, causing the victim to die a slow painful death. This is why people consider him an ancient vampire. What people don’t know about him is that the rich loved him, but the poor hated him. To anyone that didn’t have to seal to make it by he was great. Evil is to be morally wrong, bad, wicked, and a whole bunch of other synonyms that all boil into one pot. There is so much to this word that it’s almost impossible to pinpoint someone as truly evil. To be evil for no other reason than to be evil would be the worst possible evil. Adolf Hitler and Osoma bin Laden believe the evil they committed was justified by God, or some higher power. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, from the play by Shakespeare, were not evil because they wanted to be, they did it for a greater good.

In the book, Dracula by Bram Stoker there are many characters that display qualities of good verse evil. The Count Dracula is a mysterious character who appears as an odd gentleman but the longer the story goes on Dracula shows his true self. Dracula started infiltrating the lives of anyone who crossed his path and he was not stopping his destruction of others’ lives. Many people were affect by Dracula’s actions but there were two people that Dracula caused an impact on during his rampage. Dracula is an evil, cunning, and selfish character who harms the life of a young man and ruins the future of an innocent woman.
The geography for each circle of Hell's misery is distinctly arranged to coincide with the sin of the sinners contained within. In Canto V, we are taken to the prison of those souls who were unable to master their own desires. These are those who "betrayed reason to their appetite" (1033), allowing the lust of flesh and carnal things overcome their God-given human reasoning. It is here that we see a dark and deafening Hell, full with the roar of the anguish of the condemned dead. ‘Dracula’ is a novel that probes deeply into people’s superstitions, fears and beliefs of the supernatural. The creature Dracula is an evil being with no concern for others, he kills for his own ends and cannot be stopped, and this is what makes ‘Dracula’ truly frightening.
It is with the second circle that the real tortures of Hell begin. There lie the most heavy-hearted criminals in all of Hell, those who died for true love. Here, those who could not control their sexual passion, are buffeted and whirled endlessly through the murky air by a great windstorm. This symbolizes their confusing of their reason by passion and lust. According to Dante, ?SEMIRAMIS is there, and DIDO, CLEOPATRA, HELLEN, ACHILLES, PARIS, and TRISTAN? (Alighieri 57).
Inferno, the first part of Divina Commedia, or the Divine Comedy, by Dante Alighieri, is the story of a man's journey through Hell and the observance of punishments incurred as a result of the committance of sin. In all cases the severity of the punishment, and the punishment itself, has a direct correlation to the sin committed. The punishments are fitting in that they are symbolic of the actual sin; in other words, "They got what they wanted." (Literature of the Western World, p.1409) According to Dante, Hell has two divisions: Upper Hell, devoted to those who perpetrated sins of incontinence, and Lower Hell, devoted to those who perpetrated sins of malice. The divisions of Hell are likewise split into levels corresponding to sin. Each of the levels and the divisions within levels 7,8, and 9 have an analogous historical or mythological figure used to illustrate and exemplify the sin.
The Black Death is a very terrible disease that killed a large amount of people. The year that this pandemic started was 1348 and went on to last for another 12 years (history staff). This is thought to be the worst disease ever, it took more lives than any other pandemic or war before its time (Encyclopedia). The symptoms of this sickness will prove those thoughts to be correct.
