The Vietnam War was a disastrous event in history. It was filled with bloodshed and it caused many conflicts. It was also caused by many conflicts as well. What causes conflicts you might ask? Well, that's a great question. Disagreements cause conflicts. One of many conflicts was the war between the French and Vietnam. Another one could be the competition between the USSR and the US. As you can see, the Vietnam war was a very exciting and important event in history.
The Vietnam war was a long war between the U.S and Vietnam. It was located in Laos and Cambodia. This war lasted from 1954-1975, and caused many conflicts between the people in the U.S, and Vietnam. Many people were in it as well, the people who played the most important parts were Ho Chi Minh, (Leader of North Vietnam) JFK, Lyndon B. It started when North Vietnam, lead by Ho Chi Minh broke free from French Indochina’s control, while South Vietnam, lead by Bao Dai, was still controlled by French Indochina. French Indochina called to reclaim Northern Vietnam causing them to go to war. Vietnam and French Indochina fought against one another for about 9 years from 1945-1954.(According to historyguy.com) Vietnam fought to become independent and not in control of French Indochina. Soon, French Indochina got defeated and surrendered to the Vietnamese. After the war, Vietnam wanted to take over the surrounding countries of Laos, Cambodia, Southern Thailand. The French wasn’t part of the war afterwards, but one of the French allies, the US, decided to try and stop Vietnam. Because of this, it started the Vietnam War. In my opinion, this was the main conflict of the starting of the Vietnam war. If this conflict didn’t happen, Vietnam would most likely still be in the French’s control and the US wouldn’t have interfered with
