The Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was the longest war in America's history of involvement. Twenty years of hell, land mines, cross-fire, and death. Vietnam was divided by the Geneva Accord. The north being communist run by Ho Chi Minh. The south being anti-Communist run by Ngo Dinh Diem.
The Vietnam War, conflict in Southeast Asia, was mainly fought in South Vietnam between government forces with aid from the United States against guerrilla forces with aid from North Vietnam. The war began soon after the Geneva Conference provisionally divided Vietnam into the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, North Vietnam, and the Republic of Vietnam, South Vietnam. It began as a Vietnamese civil war and grew into a limited international conflict in which the United States became deeply involved. The war resulted in South Vietnam's collapse and unification in the northern part of the country.
The Vietnam War
1. Introduction.
I have chose to write about the Vietnam War because it is very exciting, and it have a lot of political and military questions that haven't been cleared out. I would like find out why the US wanted to join the war, and why did they lose the war, and what did the people in the US say about the war.

The Vietnam War was a war that changed America forever. It was a long, costly war between Communist North Vietnam, with the aid of the Viet Cong, and Capitalist South Vietnam, aided by the United States. It was a controversial war at the time, but today, it remains embedded in America's history as a war to be remembered.
In the steps toward peace North and South Vietnam, each side suffered heavy damage due to the War. The death toll on was unreal because of war stricken areas. In1969 Paris, France both the Viet Cong and South Vietnam sat down for negotiator about War, but little progress was made. Over later part of 1969, other country that whom had troops in Vietnam War pull their troop out of the
The Vietnam War escalated from a Vietnamese civil war into a limited international conflict, in which the United States was deeply involved. The Vietnam War was fought in South Vietnam between government forces aided by the United States and guerilla forces aided by the North Vietnamese. Despite increased American military involvement and signed peace agreements in 1973, the Vietnam War did not end until North Vietnam's successful invasion of South Vietnam in 1975. The Vietnam War may have been the longest war in American history, but after South Vietnam collapsed, America was left to question their highly controversial involvement in a lost cause.
France established French Indochina and other colonies in the area. Communist Ho Chi Minh called for his Vietnamese people to rebel against the French. While this went on, at the Geneva Conference in July 1954, Vietnam was divided into two separate nations. Supposedly, two
Vietnam at War
Vietnam is one of the most beautiful countries of the world. It had fought for independence for over two thousand years to protect its culture from the invading countries like China, Japan, France and America. The Vietnam War which is also referred to as the Second Indochina War lasted from 1959 to 1975 (Bradley, 2009). Before French colonization Vietnam was under the influence of Chinese domination. It was known to contain different ethnicities and languages, and great diversity in social, religious and cultural values.
In April of 1956 the last remaining French troops would leave Vietnam. After over 200 years of influence and rule, the French at last realized that the occupation and control of Vietnam was an unreachable goal. In consideration of the many blunders (both militarily and political) , and the outright ignorance of the French high command, any efforts to stabilize Vietnamese nationalism and to maintain french rule over Vietnam were thwarted. Thus the French were defeated by an inferior force, and the question of how such an anomaly could occur lies within the 200 years of rule, and the many mistakes made through out way.
Vietnam was also split in half at the 17th parallel with North as communist led by Ho Chi Minh, South as democracy by Bao Dai, who was overthrown by Ngo Dinh Diem. The cause of fighting was power. Ho and Diem both wanted to control all of Vietnam. So to be fair they held an election, but Diem was afraid of losing to Ho. So Diem didn’t participate and attacked Ho’s supporters in S. Vietnam. They’re called the Viet Cong or the National Liberation Front (NLF). The Viet Cong are south vietnamese, who are suppose to be anti-communist, but actually support Ho Chi Minh, who is communist. They secretly helped the north by giving them supplies through the Ho Chi Minh Trail. They’re the expert of “betraying your own country”. U.S. went in to train the ARVN (Army of South Vietnam)to fight against Ho’s army, but what they didn’t know is that 75% of the army were Viet Cong. So they’re actually training the enemy. Meanwhile Diem was executed by US military coup. They felt that Diem was a bit pathetic. Nguyen Cao Ky became new leader of S. Vietnam, but he was unstable and corrupt. Americans did feel like they should stay out of this war, but Congress felt that if we do, communism will spread. So how did they make people want to go to war? The Tonkin Gulf Resolution: When a Vietnam attacked an American ship, which for some weird reason was on the Vietnam’s
