There are multitudes of problems that arise in today’s society as the world becomes more modern; exchanging traditional values for those that are secular and shifting their reliance from God to themselves. These values are indisputably pervasive as they intertwine themselves with media, law, and for some their innermost values and what they believe is just and good. Gaining an understanding of how these values are found in the world and understanding how certain values are opposition to the supreme values of the Church ensures one can protect the family 's sanctity. Through the analysis of these values, one can gain insights into the problems the family faces, the nature of the assault on the family, and how to prevent the family 's destruction. Media comes in various forms such as billboards, magazines, and television. These mediums create problems for the institution of the family through the underlying messages enforced. To start, it changes the family dynamic instituted by God. With God’s law in place, a child can only be made through the sacred bond of marriage. In contrast, media shows no regard for this value and actively demonstrates that one does not need marriage to have children. This changes the dynamic of the family from the traditional husband, wife, and children to girlfriend, boyfriend and children. This dynamic highlighted by the media creates a home of instability since they have not taken the vow to stay together, making it easy for them to split up and destroy the family or cause its severe fragmentation. Media also distances the family. Through it the people of the family consume themselves with television and all of its encompassed violence thereby losing valuable time one could spend with family. So in short, to make sure the family is not destroyed its members need to be grounded in its faith and its heads must set a good example for other members of the family to follow. The Family is a sacred structure that needs protection in the modern society we live in. There have been attacks on the family through secular societal values found through laws and various sources of media. Fortunately, the family 's sanctity can be preserved through having a strong foundation of faith. Through the analysis of the various topics that pose a threat to the family, one can gain insights into the problems the institution of the family faces, its nature of assaults on the family, and how one can prevent the destruction of the family.
