In my personal opinion, gay marriage should be globally accepted The biggest misunderstanding in this hot topic is that those of the gay community have a "choice" to whom they can feel attracted to but simply choose to be gay. Just as heterosexuals do not "choose" who they are attracted to, neither do homosexuals. Multiple anti-gay groups claim that “homosexuality is preventable and treatable” as well as "living as a homosexual is not as happy-go lucky as frequently portrayed in the entertainment media.” How can someone with no personal experience of being gay say that homosexuality can be "changed," or even whether a homosexual can be happy or not? What about the research done proving that homosexuality is purely genetic? No one "chooses" to live a life filled with prejudice and discrimination.
However all of the points may be arguable it still doesn’t change that fact that gay people are humans that love like any other person in this world and should not be excluded from marrying the person that they love. Same sex marriages should not be banned because it is untraditional; but should be recognized like any other marriage involves love and it might be different but we all should be recognized as equals. Same sex marriages should be legalized in all states because everyone has different views on the topic, but happiness makes the world go around amongst other things and no one should be deprived of their happiness no matter their sexual preferences. Same sex marriages should not be banned because it is untraditional; but should be recognized like any other marriage involves love and it might be different but we all should be recognized as equals.
My marriage is not threatened or devalued in any way, shape or form” (Land 31). In conclusion, gay marriage should be allowed in the United States because it supports the idea of equal rights, and it would do no harm to children with homosexual parents, or society. When gays are denied marriage, not only are they denied that right, but many other rights as well. This is completely unacceptable. By making gay marriage legal, the government is setting up a world in which everyone is balanced.
Gay marriage should be legally recognized, what is so right about a heterosexual marriage compared to homosexuals? They both start with the letter “H”, the only difference is the genders. Nobody should have the right to determine what is considered “right”, marriage makes a couple officially together; it does not affect anybody but them. Labels should not define love, and by not allowing same gender couple the right to marry is unfair and wrong.
I accept gay marriage as a legitimate relationship because I believe everyone should be free to marry the person they love. In the court of law Judge Michael Mcshane wrote that the “couples challenging the law clearly are examples of strong relationships, although that is not a prerequisite for state recognition of marriage”. He mentioned that granting gay and lesbian couples the right to marry would not have any effect on other families, and couples, nor would it burden the state. “Oregon law recognizes a marriage of love with the same equal eye that it recognizes a marriage of convenience”, Mcshane wrote. I believe lifetime love, and commitment should be celebrated and honored.
God loves everyone equally the same and they feel like if God can still love them, why cannot we. Therefore, homosexuals who want to be married just want the same rights and treatments as heterosexuals. Legalizing gay marriage has caused many problems in the society today. The U.S. Constitution is making some people go against their religious beliefs because of this law. I personally do not think people should have to go against their religion to support something that God would not be pleased with.
The issue regarding the legalization of same-sex marriages has become a major political issue. Some see homosexuality as sinful and disgusting, while other knows that it is just another way of living. When it comes down to it, our society is just making it illegal for people that live their lives differently from the majority of us. It is inequitable for our government to decide on whether or not homosexuals can be married. Everyone should be able to receive the same benefits and acceptance regardless of their sexuality so granting legal marriage rights under the law must extent to gays and lesbians to ensure that all citizens enjoy full human rights.
Some people believe that being gay or lesbian is a choice that can easily be changed. Some believe that it is inborn and it cannot be changed. It is not changeable; it is who they are. They should just be accepted, no matter who they love or what sex they choose. In most religions same sex preferences are a sin and frowned upon.
Homosexual people are the new African Americans, the new Jews, and the new minority that is being suppressed even though they are human and deserve the same rights as everyone else, the right to same sex marriage. Although opponents view same sex marriage as an attack on traditional marriage and morals, same sex marriage should be legalized because faith and morality should not play a role in politics, it is discrimination towards a group of people with different beliefs, and it is a human and constitutional right. Politics and ruling on same sex marriage does not have a fine line between church and state for both “supporters and opponents, their religious views were a guiding factor”... ... middle of paper ... ...e helping another good cause but also, “studies have proved time and again that the best environment in which to raise children is a two-parent household filled with love” (Driscoll). Homosexual couples are equally capable of providing children with patience, love, and respect. Many heterosexual couples fight and have divorces but no one questions what effect that has on children, so why homosexual couples?
In the end, everyone should be treated equal. It is just simply wrong to deny any human the right to marry someone of the same sex; it is unlawful, unjust, and unfair. In the future same sex marriage must be legal all over the United States. Same sex couples just want happiness just like couples of the opposite sex.
