The US Constitution: One of the Best Documents Ever Made

Nevertheless, protecting the rights of the people was the most important concern of America, which affected the choices of the nation. One view Americans had of the Constitution was that it would unify the nation. The Constitution proposed a strong federal government and that these people believed would protect the affairs of the nation, while still granting some power to state government. The people for this option also agreed with the system of government that the Constitution formed, which was a number of branches that used checks and balances to protect the government and the citizen from being controlled by one person. These officials would be “leaders of wisdom, experience, justice, and virtue” and would only be able to serve limited terms.

Similarly, we live lives of choice and independence because of the same document while other countries limit all the rights we are guaranteed in the Constitution. Simply put, “The Constitution is important because it protects individual freedom, and its fundamental principles govern the United States. The Constitution places the government 's power in the hands of the citizens. It limits the power of the government and establishes a system of checks and balances”

Being expression one of the most important rights of the people to maintain a connected society right to speech should be accepted to do so. The first amendment is one of the most fundamental rights that individuals have. It is fundamental to the existence of democracy and the respect of human dignity. This amendment describes the principal rights of the citizens of the United States. If the citizens were unable to criticize the government, it would be impossible to regulate order.

Firstly, as stated above, being a citizen of America entitles me to certain inalienable rights, and among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (Jefferson, 352). Thomas Jefferson made sure that as American citizens, each and everyone of us has these rights which are documented in the The Declaration of Independence. Each citizen has rights and with these rights comes responsibility, responsibility to themselves as citizens and to the country. In my opinion, as citizens, we must make certain sacrifices for a greater cause. These sacrifices include paying taxes and obeying laws.

This is where the idea of Federalism comes into play. The definition of Federalism goes as follows; Federalism is the philosophy that power should be divided between the central powers and all its constituents. In other words the power of the United States should not all be in the hands of the national government, each state should have a say in the way that they want their own state to run. Every state wants to progress in a different way, and every state wants to progress at a different speed. However when problems get to large for a single state run government to handle, the national (federal) government will proceed to step in and set forth the necessary measures to control the situation.

The Power of The Judiciary When the founding fathers of our country, and by that I mean the Federalists, were creating the system of government for America, they knew that a separation of power would be necessary to protect the American people from the evils of a monarchy or dictatorship. In doing this, they created the three branches of government; Legislative, Executive, and Judiciary. The plan was to have the Legislative make the laws, Executive enforce the laws, and the Judiciary interpret the laws, and it was Madison's system of "Checks and Balances" that would keep the three in check. No one branch would be able to exploit it's power without the scrutiny of one of the other branches, it seemed to be the perfect system. However, when the Federalists proposed this system of "Checks and Balances," they really didn't consider the Judiciary that much of a threat of power, and because it wasn't considered a policy making branch like the Executive and Legislative, it really wasn't thought of as part of that system.

Finally, the government should support people’s endeavors and encourage them to secure their dreams on their own. There are many times in U.S. History that shows the components of a successful government. First, the government should preserve the rights and freedoms of its people. The Articles of Confederation was the first attempt to create a unified government; however, there were many problems in the Articles. For example, the Articles had no power to tax the states and it gave too much power to the states’ governments.

Time after time in American history, its guidelines and effectiveness have proven that the Constitution is not a document to be disregarded. Therefore, the Constitution of the United States should be looked at as a paradigm and fully relied on for all political decisions of this country. In order to learn from the Articles of Confederation, many quandaries needed to be reanalyzed. Perhaps the most important of these to the Constitutional Convention was the powers of the federal government. The framers had much experience with the disastrous effects of power corruption and thus proposed the inception of the three branches of government.

The United States constitution sets forth the nations supreme laws it establishes the national government and defines the inalienable rights and liberties of every citizen the creation of the constitution was a process that involved promises and struggle among the founding fathers of the nation. The victory of the confederate states in the revolutionary war presented the independent states with the major challenge of establishing a peacetime government following the victory of the confederacy reaction, but also an understanding reaction thus introducing a document that provided the laws of the land. The constitution directed its attention to many problems in this country; it offered quite a challenge because the document was suitable to several views

The colonists had developed great ideas about the government and our foundation to our rights and independence. The way they fought off the British was a smart way with good tactics as well as strong protest. All people have the equal rights and we all need them in order to have a structured government. The idea, law is king, is the definition of the government, which is a great theory made. We can use many of these ideas and theories so we can use them in modern day to help our understandings of how the government and who were the people to stand up to the Parliament for our own independence and government.
